Okay, so Read the Runes x=5 with Forbidden Crypt and Lich's Mirror
"Return 5 cards from your graveyard to your hand. If you can't, shuffle your hand, your graveyard, and all permanents you own...
Replacement effects just overwrite the previous effect. The way the cards work, Read the Runes wouldn't even be aware something was replaced, it'll just chug along.
So:
Read the Runes will say...
A local Riddlesmith player is all over this card lol
Fable of the Mirror Breaker and Faithless Looting as well
What would this do?
Has there ever been an example of a replacement effect doing a replace-in-kind thing?
Data is great but it seems bans are vibe based with the pretense of fact based decision making.
if they unban Mind Twist, you know where I'll be :D
I tired something like it, problem was the high level of incidental graveyard hate from the field slowed me down that it almost never came together in time
Someone asked for some Halloween themed decks for content, so I shared this list I had.
It does the thing well enough, but not often enough.
4 Ravenloft Adventurer
4 Seasoned Dungeoneer
4...
I did watch a game involving two Kaito's flipping the other in over a few turns. The opponent had flooded out so it wasn't really close, but as a demonstration of capability via playing with it's...
18/64 for EW Japan is still a lot of representation.
If the trend continues and people start dropping the deck because they can never crack top 8 with it, representation will die down and it will...
I'd like it if they explored the 4-6 mana creature Goldilocks zone more. I guess in the context of Legacy it's the inverse Goldilocks zone. If it costs 1 or 2 mana then it can slot into every Daze...
That Goldfish article was a frustrating read for sure. Opened with a big stink about how we're living in the worst case reality with UB Tempo and Reanimator being dominant despite the banning of...

Psychic Frog is really good and will define Legacy for as long as it is legal. Could very well be banned in December. Precedent exists with examples like Dreadhorde...
I presume you mean to say UR is not allowed good card draw in Legacy, because EI is pretty quintessential to the color pairing, but forbidden in the format.
That argument kind of tracks, I think...
Can we unban Dreadhorde Arcanist then?
Or how many graveyard abuses must we suffer before Deathrite Shaman is the only maindeckable police of the mechanic that ever had success?
I just bought stock on products I use in my own life, high school me figured if I'm buying from a company I might as well have something to gain from my own solicitations.
But to your point, every...
Guys, as a Hasbro shareholder, I'd appreciate it if you stopped discussing the health of the game and all that nonsense and just give me money.
Don't worry, once they finish their allocation of Modern Horizon 3 collector boosters (with retro frame Elementals) and are sure there's no more money left to be made, they'll ban Grief.
You're...
That's true. If Pre-War Formalwear doesn't trigger, then it's not worth considering.
With Shifting Woodland tech though, Loam might being doing extra duty that betrays a one to one comparison with...
I agree. The idea was to out-fair the fair decks by jumping ahead in cards in hand land land drops with cards that aren't critically bad on their own. If you go crazy and flip your whole deck and...
In addition or Dryad Arbor off GSZ I think a single Life From the Loam would do good here, somewhere. Not sure what yet, but your list FTW is what I had in mind.
What did you want to do with the...
It won't get banned with that attitude lol
Does a deck like this want Urza's Saga?
It can find Shuko, but getting one or two to flip off Nadu and make some buff dudes might be good too.
If the goal is combo then Breakfast seems the way to go.
This seems more psuedo-combo, like just getting 4 activations before it eats a removal (5 activations then) is a powerful enough momentum...
It's not my list but one that did demonstrate the power of the card, especially when it flipped Field of the Dead that triggered and got more flips and more zombies.
So there's definitely something...
