This tournament was a lot of fun, and I hope that there will be more like it in the future.
There will be a few Rochestarians there. As of right now it's me, Kyle Dorgan, and Dave Cleveland.
Thanks for the support. The loss against Gus's pile was more painful than you can imagine.
The one Threads is actually there because I didn't think Explosives was enough mass removal on its own, and I wanted a few more cards that could deal with more than one creature at once. So I put in...
I played this list to a 13th place finish in a field of 60-70 people.

Here's my tournament report. Zach Fine and I were passing through Syracuse on the way to the tournament, and my car broke down. Fortunately, the auto shop was next to a Chuck E. Cheese. We played at...
Savor the Moment is too unreliable to be played and is only really worth it in certain situations. The 50% chance of spending three mana on literally nothing is not a smart gamble, especially with so...
I can agree that Jace has advantages, particularly against other blue decks like the one in your example. But I think that Compulsive Research is better for consistently hitting the fourth land drop...
None of those things seem like especially good reasons to play instants. There aren't many more sorcery speed cards in this list than in the normal ones, because Jace is sorcery speed.
The reason I feel so safe tapping out is because there aren't any counters that cost more than one mana that I want to play in this deck. If there isn't an incentive to leave mana up, then why not...
I played this list to a 14th place finish at the GP Boston legacy side event on Sunday.
4 Force of Will
3 Spell Snare
4 Swords to Plowshares
1 Wrath of God
2 Ajani Vengeant
2 Elspeth, Knight...
I'll be there with Zach Fine and maybe some more Rochester people too.
Who could forget when I changed my name from legacyplayer to legacyplayer0 because I forgot my password? The Source was in an uproar!
But seriously, some people actually thought it wasn't the same...
This article was a nice break from some of the dry, primer style reports that I read all too often. Reading a Magic article shouldn't feel like doing math homework. Nice job, Gavin.
Legacy at Millennium died when the owner fired Chuck (cdr) and legacy tournaments began at a nearby store called Boldo's Armory. Then those tournaments stopped, and no one has played legacy in...
That's good advice, but there are some exceptions. The most important one that I can think of right now is that you really want to make sure you get at least 14 creatures by the end of the draft, and...
I'll definitely be going here on Sundays whenever I have one free. Winning real prizes in an actually sanctioned tournament on a Sunday would really bring back memories...
That was actually my forest.
