Progenitus?
It's infinitely better than Ruric Thar. If you're trying to NO as fast as you can, Proggy is your man.
While I've always agreed that Mindbreak Trap is stupid, Meekstone is at least defensible.
Against RUG, games actually last longer than two turns whereas vs Storm you have to hope to have one of...
Eternal Witness, Cloudstone Curio, Primal Command anyone??
Thanks for the backing me there Koby. Apologies. I could have been clearer when explaining that; it was just a lot to type on my phone.
Alright, let's clear things up. Progenitus is a replacement effect, not a trigger like Emrakul. RiP doesn't do anything against it. You just choose to shuffle Progenitus in instead of exiling it.

Targets are declared before costs are paid. So you can't use Symbiote at all. Eladamri is just bad. The Jund matchup is not that bad. They have to kill every creature and cannot do that...
That card singlehandedly allowed me to almost win G2 against Tezzeret through 2 Chalice of the Void on 1, a Chalice on 2, an Ensnaring Bridge and double Perish. I'll type out a more in depth report...
On another note, I won a local legacy tournament this weekend with the following list:
// Deck: Elves (60)
// Lands
2 Bayou
2 Dryad Arbor
1 Forest
4 Gaea's Cradle
2 Misty Rainforest
I'd probably play a Birchlore Ranger and a Crop Rotation in the main. The sideboard should be tuned to your meta. Blind I would say 2 Thorn of Amethyst and something for the fair matchups in place of...
Counterbalance. That's it. You'd rather have a threat against High Tide. They're not beating discard spells and we're a faster combo deck. ANT/TES don't play enough Islands to make it worth it....
This is the main takeaway. If you play against a deck with all this, fine, you lose. They'll beat every Elf player in the room. Congrats to them. We can continue with realistic matches of Magic.
For what it's worth, Emrakul only gets around Moat and Energy Field out of those cards. I'm personally a big fan of Mortarpod and almost always run one in my SB. It handles all of those cards...
