    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

I found 2 new Hulk kills I want to share with you.
They both are unfortunately not better than the current version of the deck nor the Thassa's Oracle win.

    1. Hulk dies, get: Necrotic Ooze,...

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

New updates: Wishclaw Talisman finally made it into the deck after everyone was saying the deck needs good tutors :)

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

For those of you who are still interested in the deck or want to contribute, I currently have 3 open points: 1. Hulk package considerations, 2. Decklist updates, 3. Sideboard discussion.

    1. Hulk...

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

    Some updates to the list:

Returned to the Cauldron Familiar hulk package because it is better with other recent changes to the list (see below).

I trimmed down to 1 Carrion Feeder and 1...

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

I can see the benefits of Eladamri's Vineyard and it looks great on paper. I am still hesitant because of the downside of giving your opponent GG before you can do anything with the mana. Squandered...
  6. Re: No Bacon, Ham and Sausage AKA Vegan Lumberjack Breakfast

For example Blisterpod was on one of my early lists for a Culling the Weak+Veteran Explorer style decks, but it was not great and too cute.
  7. Re: New Reanimator Combo - Kairi, the Swirling Sky (NEO)

You are right, World Gorger is kind of similar and we could adapt elements from those lists.

For now I will be using this list as starting point for maximal redundancy to see if the combo at least...

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

By "...probably do that better" you mean fixing green? If so, you are right.

The deck walks hard into losing to FoW anyway  nah, but seriously, Squandered Resources is mainly interesting...
  9. Re: New Reanimator Combo - Kairi, the Swirling Sky (NEO)

At first it looks like Tin Fins with extra hoops to jump through, as pointed out by Arcanis as well, and I totally agree with that.
However, if we take a closer look it might hold some...
  10. Re: New Reanimator Combo - Kairi, the Swirling Sky (NEO)

Edit 29.01.2022: Considering Collective Brutality as win-con.
  11. New Reanimator Combo - Kairi, the Swirling Sky (NEO)

New Reanimator Combo - Kairi, the Swirling Sky (NEO)

In Kaigawa: Neon Dynasty (NEO) this beautiful dragon was spoiled: Kairi, the Swirling Sky (link).

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

    Brief update:
I am evaluating if Squandered Resources could be a possible addition to the deck.

It can be played a priori to the combo turn
Shines with extra lands from Veteran Explorer...

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

You have to get 1x Carrion Feeder together with Body Double on the initial Protean Hulk trigger, and on the Double one you can get 3 more Feeder with Vesperlark = 4x Feeder :)

    Thanks for...

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

Yes, Reveillark line gets 2x Carrion Feeder into play, but Vesperlark gets up to 4x Carrion Feeder into play, making it very unlikely to be blown out by spot removal. 2 spot removal however, is more...

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

Thank you @FTW for creating a new thread, as you picked up correctly, this is not the direction I want to go with Jelly, Eggs and Bacon. However, this does not mean that I am not curious to explore...

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

Pattern of Rebirth was on my maybeboard list when I was first drafting the deck, but in my opinion it has one major flaw: It is vulnerable to creature removal, which means that the combo turn can be...

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

Thank you a lot for testing the deck!

I also submitted the deck as donation deck to The EPIC Storm's Bryant Cook, please find the link to the video here: https://youtu.be/UC84jYhmWDI

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

I believe that the deck fulfils the kill before turn 3.5 criterion. What I was trying to say is not that this is a slow combo deck by any means. It is designed in a way that is less glass canon T1...

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

Infernal Tutor is really not that good in the deck, it is 2 mana and you have to get hellbent, which is not easy in the deck that needs 7+ mana for the reward (i.e. play out excessive discard,...

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

Thanks everyone for the input and the (many) alternative concepts of how a hulk combo deck could look like.
However, I would like to focus more on the actual list/concept I have posted and discuss,...

I currently tend towards drafting a Peer style deck with "Culling the Explorer" and other elements of the Jelly, Eggs and Bacon list, as it seems to be one of the most promising "alternative"...

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

I think we have to differentiate what "fizzling" means. I understand the term as one of two scenarios: You have to stop mid-combo due to a) not being able to count properly (human failure) or b) not...

    Re: Jelly, Eggs and Bacon

Could you elaborate a bit more why you think Blex is better than Hulk? The draw-4 cards have the problem of fizzling and also take a decent amount of space in the deck, while Hulk wins on the spot....
