John Finkel just reached his 16th PT Top8 with a Dark Petition deck this weekend...
I'm not sure this move has to do with reprints and secondary market prices (except WotC are perhaps weary of price spikes after Modern PT), but more with :
Players being fed up with the arbitrary...
I think it's not so much a matter of individual deck builders talent that a matter of sheer manpower. For each PT, you get those large teams comprised of the game's best players (many of whom are...
Mana Drain + Mentor + SDT seems pretty sweet indeed...
Chalk another win for the Willy Wonka school of marketing !
Can we get Mickael Bay on that ?
Here, I think they want to "shake up" the Modern format before the next Pro Tour so that the Pro teams are forced to innovate and not play safe with proven decks. After that, I think they hope people...
This. I don't believe for a second that Trick Jarret would have gone out on Reddit and explained that sharpied basic lands were counterfeits without getting a Go from the higher ups. They tried...
While the current crop of Chinese "proxies" that you find on Ebay or wherever are actually counterfeits (and as such fall under the scope of IP/Copyright law), sharpied proxies are not, and WotC...
There is still confusion regarding playtesting, though. Helene Bergeot says playtesting/casual is not concerned, but Trick Jarret's Reddit post that she links to doesn't specify anything about...
Interesting idea... Is there a precedent to that ? Changing a whole rule/keyword (and not a single card) for balance reasons ?
Shadows over Innistrad ? While flabbergasted at WotC ongoing creative bankruptcy, my default position is "cautious optimism".
Lots of information, and very well presented. Thanks a lot for the data !
Thread redeemed. Thank you Stevestamopz !

As a L1 Judge, I really don't like this change. I fear this could lead to a lot more "feel bad" moments than application of the previous penalty, and I'm not convinced by the article's reasoning that...
Fair enough (and for the record, I agree with your position on logistic bans), but I mentioned SDT because it is the plat du jour as far as banning talk is concerned, and as such relevant to the...
Those last few days, I've seen several calls for banning SDT based on "quality of coverage" of all things (basically, watching players activating SDT seems less exciting than players taking turns...
To an extent, it is implemented in Top 8 with the person with the higher ranking in Swiss rounds choosing if they want to play first.
But Miracles is able to perform well at GPs, including Top8 by Phillip at two different GPs last year and a strong showing at GP Kyoto this year. Your points are indeed true about lesser players...
Thanks for this article, Philipp. It was an interesting read, and I forwarded it to a couple of friends in need of a crash course about Legacy.
Very small nitpick, the foil cards images in the...
Hello and welcome,
You may want to check the Primers threads in the Established Decks forum for decks such as Manaless Dredge, Reanimator, and various other graveyard decks (Cephalid Breakfeast ?)...
Awesome news !
I bookmarked the site.
I had a testing session with my friends yesterday for GP Lille, with a stock 4-Ponder lists (http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/11-06-15-miracles-test/). Since some of us lack experience and are trying...
I generally store my deck box in a belt bag instead of a backpack when travelling with an expensive deck (tokens, dice, playmat... can stay in the backpack).
Not sure about the hotel, I guess...
