I said that as a "look at this,...
2. The maindeck Disenchant argument I had made is irrelevant now, because people have stopped maindecking Disenchant (which they did when ATS was considered better).
I have now used Cursed Scroll to its greatest extent: winning against a Landstill deck with 3 Sphere of Laws on the board.
...after it gained 10 life from Zuran Orb.
Flaring Pain is rather...
I'm going to say nay on Genju, also. It uses up 3 mana and opens your lands up to dying.
For a long-term win condition, I think I said it earlier, but I've done -1 Chain -1 Vortex (:() +2 Cursed...
Definitely. That's why I keep dropping lands. I hate to draw them. I throw away any hands with 4 or more lands...and sometimes ones with 3. Hell, I might go down to 17.
syss: It's been changed to Chain of Plasma, which is essentially just Incinerate 5-8. Thunderbolt has the annoying thing of not being able to target Goblins.
Thunderbolt isn't necessarily a bad...
Lightning Helix is not worth the splash. Disenchant is the ~only~ thing that makes the white splash worthwhile. Lightning Helix is just an Incinerate when you're running that many fetches, and the...
Doodlebird, your versions are considered strictly inferior to the mainstream. There's really no need to post them. You play either outdated or subpar stuff in all of them, and we've discussed a lot...
Really? I keep getting mana flooded. I'm not going to go down to 17 lands, but I keep drawing so many damn lands it gets tiring.
Whit3 Ghost:
Ankh doesn't really help any bad matchups, so I...
Um, yeah, the only reason people (see: bigbear) play Earthquake instead is because they play Wasteland. That's not a debated point.
It's good against Goblins with Jitte, which can spell trouble...
kabal, you're going into Sligh/RDW range on that one, and this thread is for Burn, not Sligh. (by the way, Angel Stompy, Fling Affinity, and especially Sui Black are not good gauntlet decks)
Slith...
Just a couple other things:
-To note, StupidBurnKid's build deviates a LOT from the "accepted" build (which is done nicely in bigbear's section where he gives my decklist from a week or two ago....
Yes, I was disturbingly productive for this deck a couple months ago. :(
This was my last list:
11 Plains
4 Ancient Tomb
3 Chrome Mox
4 Tithe
4 Mother of Runes
You don't need to splash both. Lightning Helix does NOT merit the white splash. Disenchant does. Playing Alter Reality and Disenchant is not only redundant, but also actively screws you over.
I want to address something Zilla said in the GP Philly thread.
I've been saying this for a while: Burn plays almost EXACTLY like Solidarity. It has the same general favored/unfavored...
It's 16, because Foundry is, after its ability, a dual.
That said, I don't think Suppression Field is a good MD choice. It doesn't actually improve any bad matchups. Sure, it can be a house versus...
It's for budget reasons almost entirely.
Also, I don't like the splash, for reasons I've previously mentioned.
If you're playing my deck, which has 7 REBs in the board AND Vortexes, you should have no problem against Trix. I would've beaten him if MWS wasn't such crap and made me have to drop.
The problem is that they play a medium-speed clock, Chill, and enough countermagic to back it up.
Me. I decided to drop it so that I could also drop some lands. The problem with Fork is that it really requires 3-4 lands to be good outside of hitting Fireblasts...and I don't really like having 3...
Against Solidarity, it's the opposite. Life is irrelevant to them as long as it doesn't go below 20 before they resolve High Tide. Which Skullscorch doesn't help with, since it's no better than 2x...
I misstated a little.
Browbeat is guaranteed to eventually deal damage. Either it deals 5, or it draws you into an average of 6.XX points of damage in burn. That means that, no matter what, it's...
Please, PLEASE, read the whole thread (yes, it's long, but do it) before posting stuff like this.
Skullscorch is a poor choice because they can simply choose to discard two to avoid the burn...
You shouldn't actively mana burn yourself. You just assume they don't have Pulse and keep aiming for the head, or else they drop COP and you lose.
You don't mana burn yourself...you hit yourself with a spell. That takes the Pulse out after the first try.
Even with COP and Pulse, you can still win. Vortex is a house against Landstill, and you...
