    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

Crop Rotation is probably one of the worst suggestions I've seen made for a Burn deck.

    Doesn't actively do anything.

    YEAH THE BOYS!

For anyone in Melbourne who hasn't turned up to one of these Legacy events, defintely do so. Great bunch of people, and awesome environment.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

Unplayable cards in your deck: Sonic Siezure, Needle Drop, Geistflame, Browbeat, Firebolt.

I think you have misunderstood the fundamentals of Burn, and are running too many inefficient spells as a...

Mate, 2-3 is lofty as fuck!

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

    Congrats on second place!

I'll answer the questions out-of-order, as #2 will give answer to #1.

2: Burn tends to play the Control side in this match-up, as you have more removal for their...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

With your sideboard, that's probably the safest cuts. Eidolon of the Great Revel is incredibly dead in that match-up, and you don't have enough other cards in the sideboard to cater towards the...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

I think the Prowess triggers might be more useful than it appears.

Either way, I don't actually run Swiftspear, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

For me, order goes Eidolon > Guide > Spike.

I feel that cutting creatures is the safer gameplan, and there's not going to be more than 8 cards coming in from the sideboard. At least Lava Spike...

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

I don't see a metagame where High Tide becomes viable, even with Frantic Search unbanned, outside of banning one of/both Chalice of the Void and Countertop. The deck just doesn't have the raw power...
  12. Re: [Podcast] - The Salt Mine Episode 7, FT Dice_Box

Not sure I made my point clear enough in the podcast. I'm basically on Team Dice_Box, IFF Wizards get the fuck out of Legacy. If I were still living in Melbourne, I'd be more comfortable with a...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

It's just not going to happen against Miracles.

Burn, in general, is not in the market for this type of effect. Burn cares more about card consistency, or resolving their spells.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

    Mate, deck's awful.

No Guide, no Grim Lavamancer, 4 too many copies of Bedlam Reveler/Gitaxian Probe/Manamorphose/Faithless Looting. Not a Burn deck.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

In the maindeck, I have 1 Sensei's Divining Top and 1 Barbarian Ring. Barbarian Ring is pretty good as the last source of damage underneath a countertop lock, and Sensei's Divining Top is very...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

Who runs Gitaxian Probe in Burn? The card is incredibly sub-optimal in it. Also, I've seen quite a few Miracles players bring it in for Game 2, to counteract both Grim Lavamancer and Exquisite...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

While the ceiling for Bedlam Reveler is incredibly high, I don't think that Burn is the most suitable deck to utilize it.

The best-case scenario for Burn is being able to cast this for 2-3 mana,...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

X+2 is 2/3/4/5, 2X is 2/4/6/8. If it were actually a Bolt, it only overtakes cumulative damage on the 4th card.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

Not quite. It's X+2 damage, not 2X damage.

It's still a jank card though, and should never have been brought up for discussion anyway.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Burn

Too slow, too mana intensive, just not good enough.

Burn can't afford lands entering the battlefield tapped, let alone one that requires two other lands just to activate.

I actually quite like Grim Lavamancer in the Miracles match-up, probably as much if not more-so on Turn 1 than Goblin Guide. It's a repeatable source of damage, and makes good use of the otherwise...
