Re: [Deck] W/x Parfait (Tax/Rack Control)

Phyrexian Furnace can be decent maindeckable Saga target in slow grindy control, like Parfait or Standstill.

It has a few useful modes for control:
    - proactive chipping away at opponent's...

Re: [DFT] Aetherdrift ... racing to get more money

If that was from hand or library, it would see play.

Dragon's Rage Channeler, Surveil duals, Consider, etc.

As is it's too slow for the Hollow One/Madness decks or LED decks.

Containment Construct made the rare top8 in Riddlesmith (Killabee or other dedicated players)

Re: [DFT] Aetherdrift ... racing to get more money

Riddlesmith might be the best use.

LED is also good: discard 2, +4 mana, draw card, cast card with that 4 mana. LED + Echo often fits with Riddlesmith.

Gamble gets some upside too. You draw...

Yeah maybe there isn't a viable use.

The ideal enabler has a 0-mana no-tap activated ability that exiles 1-3 cards. Repeatable & free. Unfortunately the list of permanents with that text is small:...

Re: [DFT] Aetherdrift ... racing to get more money

    WU Draw 3 vs U Draw 2 or U Draw 2 + 2/2 flyer.

Draw 3 is good, but costing double and needing the 2nd color could be a lot for those decks. It might see play but it doesn't look busted.

Yeah, given the holidays and silence in the thread, it was not obvious the next round started. Some may not know what the target deck is and what's banned. I assume my deck is one we must lose to?

Uro is old tech. I meant the newer tech (Tamiyo, Curie, Frog) allowed CA at 1-2 mana proactive plays, fitting better with the tempo plan, instead of the older 3 mana tech. Most players have been off...

Any combo deck that doesn't protect itself with FoW could jam Bauble for protection:
    Mystic Forge
    Painter
    Storm
    Etc

It's a colorless turn 1 play, easy for any nonblue combo deck to fit in.

Yes, the Legacy metagame was over 40% combo, control was borderline unplayable. Top win%s at Eternal Weekend were all combo decks (not just Froginator), control had losing records.

    It wasn't all...

Peer into the Abyss sees much play. Bargain is cheaper and draws almost as many cards.

6 mana is much better than 7 or 8 vs Daze & friends. It's only 1 more than Ad Nauseam to have better draws. ...
