I am reposting Tomas Vlcek's post, since it passed by without anyone giving it the deserved notice.
Anyway, Tomas was kind enough to throw us a bone a while back, so I tested his list and I can...
@Leovold: I wouldn't go up to two, since I was not thrilled to see it against fast creature decks. It did however single-handedly won me 2 matches in a tournament (vs GQ lands - a match were I think...
Hey,
Nice list, I've been playing almost the same main deck config for quite long.
Few comments based on my past experience:
- I favor turn 1 removal, so I played 2x Disfigure & 2x Dismember...
How do you plan to beat D&T with Revoker on Deed + active MoM?
Having Deluge helps a lot vs them and it's about on par with Deed vs deathblade. It is only worse vs goyf.dec in the late game.
A T3...
Regarding the mana base, I remember that the last time I played this list I boarded out everything red (4 L.Bolt + 2 Volc.Island) against every blue control deck (and possibly combo).
After...
My 2c:
vs Delver: Spell Pierce is key if you want your DRS to live (which is rather good), so I would keep them in.
vs Storm: you can cut one land (U.Sea or Tropical)
vs DNT: I usually only...
Few guidelines to give you an idea. The in/out numbers are not synced as I figure them out on the spot..
Miracles
---
Out:
2-4 L.Bolt
0-2 Wasteland
2-4 Daze
In:
Sideboard is functionally quite similar to the stock SB.
Dismember -> D. Edict (good vs Marit Lage, but slower vs Eldrazi)
1x Painful Truths -> Sylvan Library (quite similar, but I dont like it...
Snapcaster is for card advantage and reach (Bolt, SCM->Bolt is brutal). TNN is awesome vs D&T, Punishing Fire.Dec and Miracles.
What makes this build (the one Jarvis is playing) unique is IMO the...
Gratz!
I've been playing a similar list for a while. I use a different creature suite MD:
- 4 Goyf
- 1 Clique
+ 1 SCM
The changes are mostly based on the fact that dont own any Goyfs, but I...
Congratulations,
How efective has been SCM for you? How do you usually use him - e.g. do you cycle a brainstorm in the gy at the first oportunity or do you hold until really needed?
Personally I...
It's not like I do not like Stifles, all the contrary, it is my favorite spell.. but with this deck I kinda want to be more proactive and Stifle has not proven itself since I cut our dear old...
Hi,
I went 5-1 in a local (casual) tournament with this list. I came more or less to the same conclusions as Jaytron.
Changes to the list:
MD:
-2 Spell Pierce
+1 Spell Snare
+1 Counterspell
Yeah, right. It will rise your matchup against Miracles to 50%, while also making the Delver matchup a coin toss.
Yeah, the best I am able to achieve against Miracles is an unintentional draw.. lose/concede game 1 and then proceed to slowly bleed them out in G2 (using Slaughter Games).
It is a very bad...
Well, I agree completely. However, I am testing Traverse as a way to assure I make all my land drops in turns 1-5. This ability is not turned off by DRS and the like.
The delirium part is the...
I'm trying it out in junk (rhino) fit. Running a 3/3 split with GSZ for now. Too early to draw any conclusions, but fetching a land is not bad. The deck needs to hit land drops to operate, especially...
The deck is reasonably equiped for Storm in the M.D., although this build is very midrange-y.
I would board like this..
Out:
1 Sylvan Library
1 Painful Truths
3 Abrupt Decay
2 Gurmag Angler...
Well Glissa is probably a better candidate for siding out then P.Truths, but honestly neither are great vs Grixis. From my experience, paying 3 life points and 3 mana is a serious investment vs that...
I wouldn't board out lands when playing vs any Wastland.dec.
Ooze is good vs any DRS deck as mentioned, so keep it in. Only play it when you can safely grow if to 4 power, then it becomes a real...
Hey,
I play both Courser and DRS, both as a singleton. I wouldn't remove the 1 of DRS, he just covers too many roles to not have a singleton copy in the MD. Courser on the other hand is debatable....
I like it, buuut.. I liked the double elimination structure if the 1st jelly(TM) more (I kinda dislike the timing constraints that a swiss format brings)
This deck has moved away from being able to play everything with two lands (Sea+Taiga) to a more midrange aproach.
You will eventually find out that the deck works at its best with 3 lands in...
The list in the primer is very outdated. Here are my comments:
- You have to play all 4 Shamans, playing less then 4 is simply wrong imo.
- I would only play Mongeese if I would expect a lot of...
