    Re: [Deck] Dark Depths

I've been playing a slower version of Dark Depths with a strong land theme. In the current metagame, I prefer this strategy over the Hexmage approach.

You whined about playing against me? That hurts my feelings.

    Any videos this time?
  7. Re: Vintage(Type1) September 5th @ Jupiter Games!

This tournament was a lot of fun, and I hope that there will be more like it in the future.
  8. Re: Vintage(Type1) September 5th @ Jupiter Games!

There will be a few Rochestarians there. As of right now it's me, Kyle Dorgan, and Dave Cleveland.

Thanks for the support. The loss against Gus's pile was more painful than you can imagine.

    Re: [Deck] Ultimate Walker

The one Threads is actually there because I didn't think Explosives was enough mass removal on its own, and I wanted a few more cards that could deal with more than one creature at once. So I put in...

    Re: Team Calosso Violates Vestal!!!!!

Here's my tournament report. Zach Fine and I were passing through Syracuse on the way to the tournament, and my car broke down. Fortunately, the auto shop was next to a Chuck E. Cheese. We played at...

    Re: [Deck] Ultimate Walker

Savor the Moment is too unreliable to be played and is only really worth it in certain situations. The 50% chance of spending three mana on literally nothing is not a smart gamble, especially with so...

    Re: [Deck] Ultimate Walker

I can agree that Jace has advantages, particularly against other blue decks like the one in your example. But I think that Compulsive Research is better for consistently hitting the fourth land drop...

    Re: [Deck] Ultimate Walker

None of those things seem like especially good reasons to play instants. There aren't many more sorcery speed cards in this list than in the normal ones, because Jace is sorcery speed.

    Re: [Deck] Ultimate Walker

The reason I feel so safe tapping out is because there aren't any counters that cost more than one mana that I want to play in this deck. If there isn't an incentive to leave mana up, then why not...

  21. Re: [Article] Through My Eyes: A GP: Chicago Story

This article was a nice break from some of the dry, primer style reports that I read all too often. Reading a Magic article shouldn't feel like doing math homework. Nice job, Gavin.

    Re: Drafting tips

That's good advice, but there are some exceptions. The most important one that I can think of right now is that you really want to make sure you get at least 14 creatures by the end of the draft, and...
