You act like you've never been deep-dicked by Daze, Wasteland and Gurmag Angler.
Also, UR Delver is just as bad a matchup as Burn, if not worse.

I think if we wanted a tech-land in Shortcake, we'd be playing Inventors' Fair.
I feel like Shortcakes really doesn't rely on Moon like it did a few years ago. Other than that, we haven't really...
I think us caring about Surgical is at an all-time low.
With Karn being able to snag stuff out of the exile zone, we are literally able to assemble our combo from every zone in the game.
Hand?...
I'm curious as to what your manabase looks like if you're running 3x Mothers.
I'll weigh in with that, because I don't necessarily agree.
Back when we had Top, I would have classified Shortcake as a Prison/Combo deck that just so happened to have a dual silver bullet...
I am not that brave. If I'm playing blue, Brainstorm and Ponder are mandatory attendees to the party.
Edit: but, still rocking Moons in the SB. If you're playing 2 colors in Legacy and one of them...
I've been playing UR with Trinket Mage for the last few months now, with some Shortcake sprinkled throughout.
Trinket Mage tends to over-perform and has gotten me out of some tricky spots.
I mean, we used to play with 2 Chandra in the main (at least I did).
I don't see why we couldn't tweak the build to include 1-2 MD Karn.
Exactly this. Top wasn't really the actual offender for timing issues. Counterbalance is the only real reason to ever have to top more than once per turn (if you don't have short-term memory loss).
See, the way that's supposed to go is:
Opp: Show and Tell?
You: Resolves
Opp: *puts in Omniscience*
You: *puts in Canonist*
Then, on their turn still, stand up out of your chair and literally...
I wouldn't say that's exactly why, but Canonist, in general, is a better hate piece than Moon in the current meta.
Honestly, UR Delver is the toughest matchup for Shortcake out of all of those, IMO.
Elves and Omni (especially if it's straight Omnitell) aren't too bad. Both matchups we need to heavily lean on...
Ballista shines in the creature matchups.
Specifically, DnT, Elves, Humans, and Goblins.
I can't see myself ever cutting Ballista from the main.
It also clears out Strix so that you can get in...
I didn't think about that. I don't like the idea of being forced to send our Welder to his death.
Copter is mainly the path we take to win via combat damage, in my experience.
Obviously, sometimes your band of misfits can just get there on their own, but Copter represents a significant clock...
@soconnor: That's a very interesting list. I've been considering a basic Plains for a while now.
The card I'm most interested in is Mox Opal. I feel like our artifact density isn't quite there to...
You wouldn't name white against Miracles anyways.
I feel that Miracles is actually favored for us now, but one of the ways they can really climb out of the hole against us is with Mentor. ...
Well, I did pick up this one recently:

I've also got the Unlimited art Plateau mat as well.
I haven't found the need for more than 1 Bridge in the SnT or Eldrazi matchups (especially Eldrazi since Moon and Painter mess with their mana heavily), but it might be a consideration for Depths,...
Sideboard (15):
1 Blood Moon
1 Containment Priest
1 Duergar Hedge-Mage
1 Ethersworn Canonist
1 Goblin Cratermaker
1 Karn, Scion of Urza
1 Magus of the Moon
2 Pyroclasm
1 Sulfur Elemental
It does if you name white with Painter.
I've never actually been a fan of Dread of Night.
If I'm splashing black, I'm playing Massacre.
I've been playing 2 Clasm, 1 Sulfur Elemental as of late. Clasm is still good and has a wider range of applications, but Sulfur Elemental is still great and can be an absolute blowout vs DnT. Thus,...
Played in the Legacy Challenge on MtGO yesterday. My first decent-sized tournament since being back on Shortcake (still working on picking up the cards in paper).
The list I played was:
