Submitted a deck (that is likely to score poorly)
Just submitted
+1 to beating both decks, I think that narrows things down significantly
I definitely thought the banlist was cumulative, so Pinnacle would still be banned - that's how other season bannathons worked in the past.
Agreed, updated spreadsheet
dte (TO) lava tubes, word of command, golgari rot farm, reito lantern
I always win eventually, Word of Command doesn't stop me. WW

Clearly the optimal anti-backbuild deck is just Chancellor of the Annex, Cavern of Souls, Black Lotus, Thassa's Oracle
But of course that loses to City of Traitors, Urza's Saga, Chancellor of the...
Backbuild is weird and I'm not really surprised a large number of entries can't beat a literal goldfish. Not sure that's truly solvable or just the reality of backbuild.
Lets see how many draws...
I think we need to resolve the ban rules clearly before we move on to the next round
I did forget to invert my points in my post but will update in the spreadsheet if that's how we're doing the math.
Edit - it looks like someone already updated me there
Aha, I was thinking I needed to use my other land to take counters off of Mage-Ring Network but I don't, will remove 2 turns from every calculation:
Make 7 mana with Mage-Ring Network + Land Cap...
Thanks for clarifying
Results for round 1 (I've recalculated my GT over and over again and I keep getting 189, can somebody help me see what I might have missed?):

Are we really all that likely to run totally out of storage lands? There's at least 16 of them off the top of my head plus things like the Mana Batteries
I definitely thought that was part of the idea where it changes the meta continually, although the changing target decks will do that as well.
I also was expecting any nonbasic to get banned, feels hard to determine what counts as "only makes mana"
As a senior software developer, this hurt to read
There's a lot to unpack there, the part I added and fully understand is the
IFERROR(<existing expression>; 0) piece which says "if the lookup failed inside <existing expression>, meaning the...
My vote would be that illegal entries just don't count - we don't score them at all. That's the cleanest answer that works for the whole season no matter what.
The simplest answer if your deck is either banned or fails to beat the target deck is to eliminate your entry for that round. Its no fun for the person making the mistake but all the other answers...
I believe it's to beat a literal goldfish, so in general for GT but you also need to describe how you beat the target deck.
I suspect fairly important as it may be the primary way to determine matchup winners
I suspect having to create a deck and stick with it from the beginning is a sizable disadvantage - I often came up with my best decks late in the week after iterating through several other ideas.
That makes total sense, I just blindly clicked assuming it would work
