So I've decided that I'm going to create the deck that breaks the legacy format in half. But I need to know a few things first:
What is required to make a deck that wins?
-dodges counterbalance (or can deal with it)
-answers to Goyf
-doesn't die to Moon effects
What else? What, in your opinion, is essential to make a tier 1 deck?
Having a solid manabase that doesn't roll over to Wasteland, either consistency or explosive power even through one piece of hate, resiliency to Duress/Seize, and a good card advantage engine (virtual or actual) are really good requirements (combo may not count for this).
At this point, pretty much every aggro strategy that has a chance has been tried out, so you have to look at the other four archetypes.
WHAT? No, just no.
Sometimes The Source may give you a wrong/biased idea of the metagame. In many metagames, for example in most of Spain, mana stability is more important than ability to dodge Counterbalance, as Stifle+Wasteland sees a lot of play.
And surviving to a Goyf Sligh/Zoo kind of deck is basic, as Zoo is a common competitive deck in most of metagames. Hell, it's widely played with certain success even in the CB-flooded american east coast.
We tried to copy the Source, but then we realized we're spanish
If my post results dumb or offensive, it's probably just me miserably failing at being ironic in a foreign language
BZK! - Storm Boards
Been there, tried that, still casting Doomsday.
Drawing my deck for 0 mana since 2013.
doesn't roll to combo. its the reason I will never play with something like elves. Flat out losing to a deck that is popular is a bad, bad thing.
...is played by a significant number of people.
Moxie.
Oh, also, Tombstalker.
