Is anyone else finding it a tiny bit annoying that the WotC coverage team is so disconnected from legacy that they don't regularly even know the names of well established archetypes?

I mean, they keep calling the Maverick decks GW Aggro or GW Stoneblade in the recaps and percentage charts. It's getting on my nerves for some reason.

Why are there no day one undefeated decklists? I was looking for some spicy stuff, but all I've seen so far was Stoneblade, Canadian Thresh and Reid Duke piloting NO RUG into a field full of Canadian Thresh. Pretty boring/weird.

It looks like IBA and Alix Hatfield made it to day two.
I am convinced that WotC is "dumbing" the game because of all the stupid posts they come across on MTG-related forums

Di and GetSickAndDie are currently 9-1.

Colin is on High Tide, Trevor is on GW Maverick.

Nice job Trevor and Colin! Has anyone on the televised matches had a Source playmat yet?

I'm not there because I'm going on vacation to Iceland in a week, and only have so much money.

No one can use playmats on camera, and especially not ones that are copyright infringements that earned us a C&D.

Colin is 12-1, and drawing into top 8. FUCK. YES.

All undefeated decks ran 4 Brainstorm. Wide spectrum my nut sack.

Yeah, but strangely enough they decided to focus on the "omnipresent Stoneforge Mystic". The fact they're calling maverick GW Stoneblade is pretty telling on how they're seeing the format right now. It's like reading fox news.

Bleh ... people act like they are solving differential equations when they talk about casting Brainstorm. Give me a break.

In other news the 12 chromosome event coverage continues:

"Martell tried to make a second Stoneforge Mystic on the next turn, but ford had a Spell Pierce to stop it."

Alix Hatfield beats LSV for the win and in. Has awful tiebreaks, may have to play the last round.
