Confusion in the Ranks

Alright,

My opponent has a Wurmcoil Engine with summoning sickness on the field. On my turn, I played Confusion in the Ranks and played a Goblin Matron. Confusion triggers, and I switch Wurmcoil for the Matron. And end the turn.

On my opponent's turn, he casted an Ichor Wellspring and switched it with the Wurmcoil (Confusion trigger).

Does his Wurmcoil still have summoning sickness since it was never under the same controller when that control's turn began?

Yes. You must have controlled a creature continuously since turn's start to attack/tap with it.
