I've made a few updates to the deck since THB, but I think it's well-positioned now with how heavy combo is online. There is a lot of unintuitive lines, and points where you may have to put yourself at risk of losing to your own Summoner's Pact but the deck is a ton of fun to play and will surely catch people off guard at your LGS.

Yes it's a funny/good decklist for mtgo with many combos decks in Legacy league and if you haven't choice to play Elves. :)

BUT I will never play this decklist in IRL Legacy tournament :p

Lurrus can slot into elves too

Looks like you just board out the finishers sometimes so you can play Lurrus as a companion or just board one copy in sometimes to tutor for for the grind.

Is this 100% correct? I mean, on the card is written "Each permanent card in your starting deck has converted mana cost 2 or less."

And from the gatherer: Before shuffling your deck to become your library, you may reveal one card from outside the game to be your companion if your starting deck meets the requirements of the companion ability. You can’t reveal more than one. It remains revealed outside the game as the game begins.

I am sure that this is confusing in some aspects, like the idea of removing CMC greater than 2 of your deck on G2, but the words make it somewhat clear that you can't.

This just proves my point that this companion shit it's WOTC stating that they don't playtest cards at all, not even in the formats that they "care" and this was a total nonsense that should be banned.

I was on the live yesterday and this situation has risen some questions.

    - Reid doesn't want to play directly Natural Order (for instant win) because he fears Force of will and I'm agree.

    - Reid plays Glimpse of Nature, his opponent doesn't counter.

    - Then Reid plays Visionnary. I understand this play because you have lot of draws to play Natural Order after Visionary (all elf card + 4 GSZ). BUT for me here, you just take a risk to fizzle. (and Reid fizzle)

After the Glimpse resolved your opponent can't have fow in hand. You still have 4 cards in hand, Cradle untap, no land drop and Druidesse to make lot of manas. Your opponent have 0 information about your hand, you can just easy goldfish and instant win or make crazy Card Advantage.

Don't counter Glimpse here and hope you fizzle to find a solution on his next turn with your hand and this board is just a mistake or just don't understand the powerful of Elfball (and his opponent is a good regular, I still played vs JPA in 2011-2012 when I farming mtgo with elves ahah).

If I was him I would have played Natural Order after the Glimpse resolved.

I nocticed something else : Reid plays automatically gsz on arbor turn 1 if he can and sometimes I don't understand why.

Arbor turn 1 it's good for acceleration your start and make good turn 2 (with Symbiot Visio and untap effect or Glimpse and Quirion, etc..) but when you have nothing in hand why do you want acceleration? Just keep your great tutor, you are not hurry.

Reid plays GSZ for 0 turn 1 with this hand on the play and for me it was just a mistake. Just keep it ! (hello visionary) What game plan do you want to accelerate here? Arbor is good Vs 5C Controle but here it's just a automic play and not a good choice.

I think I would Zenith turn 1 for Arbor Elf. He has the Cradle in hand to generate an extra mana, it seems pretty standard.

It's worth considering, but idk how great it is to hold Zenith in general. Would love to hear commentary on that tho.

    Edit: math was off

    Re: [Primer] Elves!

Okay, so the sooner you play and resolve GSZ, the more likely you are to draw another one, mathematically.

Then, the following line is available:

Turn 1: Fetch Forest, GSZ for Arbor

Turn 2: play Shepherd, Quirion Ranger, then Cradle, then tap for 3 mana. Untap Arbor and return forest, tap Arbor for 4th mana. You may now play Visionary, bounce visionary and play it again.

He does not have visionary in hand at that point, but he's live to draw 1 of 4 as well as to be able to Zenith for it if he draws 1 of 4 of those and then play what he draws if it's a 1cmc elf, or can play Symbiote for blocker bounce, etc.; these are the plays Reid is positioning himself for with the choices he made, I think.

    Edit: math was off
    Edit 2: better math

    Re: [Primer] Elves!

Hi All, I am a very casual Legacy Elves player but always check the latest Elves Deck Listing and am curious about new card choices, especially for sideboards.

    http://mtgtop8.com/archetype?a=38&meta=39&f=LE

Can anyone elaborate on why these cards are played and if you have played them how well did they work?
    Main deck:
Archon of Valor's Reach -why this card, always wondered.

    Sideboard:
    Apex Altisaur
    Deafening Silence
    Plague Engineer
    Prismatic Ending
    Run Afoul
    Sylvan Anthem

NEW TECH: How have these cards worked out for the deck?
    Grist, the Hunger Tide
    Once Upon a Time
    Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth

    Thanks for your input!
