If i'm still on time i'm definatly interested to participate!
OK so an update before I go back home for the weekend. My aim was to start this on Monday, but we're falling short on active participants :(
Current participants who have submitted deck suggestions and prize support/entry fee opinions are:
- Useless
- taconaut
- Rocco111
Then those who have expressed interest but have yet to participate further:
- Xod
- jmlima
- TheArchitect
- whocansay
- mistercakes
- ScottW
- Star|Scream
- Fry
- Etched Champion
Hopefully people's schedules are a bit more normal and weekends represent free time instead of the opposite, and we'll be flush with comments come Monday. If not we'll have to activate some contingency.
I'm up for a small pay in or just for competition.
For decks:
Landstill
Storm
Canadian Thresh
Maverick
Still interested
Goblins
Elves
Burn
-rob
I am up for any entry fee 0-30$.
Deck suggestions:
UBx Tezzeret
Infect
UWx Blade Control
Nic Fit
Bonus suggestions if you need more:
Elves
Dredge
Tin Fins
Food Chain
I'm interested if the timing works out, am in my exams currently + living in European time zone so if I can manage to play my matches according to schedule I'm game
I'd probably prefer no entrance fee as cash is pretty tight these days (sounds cheap for someone with several Legacy decks I know ;) ), but if it would encourage players to commit more to actually playing their matches and not dropping halfway, $10 would be okay too I guess.
Deck submission:
Pox
Enchantress
Aluren
UWR Landstill
The Cure
Also, how would rule enforcement be done? Not only the possibility of cheating through Cockatrice (I've seen it happen even when no prizes were on the line), but also of mistakes that can be made in the client - wouldn't be the first time someone accidentally clicks a shuffle button after a brainstorm/ponder, or puts their graveyard into their library or stuff like that.
Normally on Cocka I'm totally friendly with that because whatever/just casual, but when it's a tourney even without money, of course I want to win and not being able to know for sure whether they free-shuffled to improve their brainstorming, or having to restore game states after misclicks etc, would be good if there were some guidelines about that.

A small entry fee like 5-10$ s that the tournament is mostly for fun but still encourages people to take it seriously would be best i ques.
Deck suggestions:
Affinity,
Death and taxes,
reanimator,
infect
Alright so this is it! Players are:

- taconaut
- TheArchitect

- Etched Champion
- Fjaulnir
Since the majority of you opted to make things interesting, but not everyone, here is the prize structure: $10 USD entry fee and top 4 results will get prizes. If you don't pay, you'll earn your deserved bragging rights but the next best record will get your prize. I'll pitch some money in myself so we'll have 120% prize payout. Paypal the money to mivans@gmail.com and include your Source name so I don't accidentally embezzle it all away.
I'll begin sending out PMs to people in the order they won the lottery, so keep an eye on your inbox.
Good luck to you all!
Any update yet on how to enforce tournament rules or disputes? (like either a disagreement on a certain card interaction, can't pauze your game for 2h until someone replied on the Source; or when someone accidentally (or not accidentally) shuffles his library when it's advantageous like after a brainstorm with no fetch in hand; that does happen a lot when I play on cockatrice)
I'd recommend using xmage for any matches if both players can agree. This will avoid accidentally shuffling, drawing, card interpretations, etc...

If it's not too late to sign up, I'd like to do so.

Monday morning update!
We're nearing the end of the deck lottery. My aim is to have first week's pairings posted this time next week. If players are really having a hard time nailing down the particulars of their deck we could consider an extension, but we're already looking at 9 or so weeks of tournament, so I'm hoping to not get too much of a slow start. Once you have your list, finalize it by sending it to me.
To be eligible for a prize finish payment needs to be submitted prior to any first round results.
Regarding tournament disputes, the expectation is that both players will come to a mutual agreement to the winner of the match. Tools like undo last draw can help rewind the game, but if it's beyond repair, it'd be the same game loss as a paper tournament. If arbitration is needed, I'll hear from both players and come to a decision. But that should be worst case scenarios only.
@Speedbump, thank you for the interest, apologies but we're a bit too far into it now for late entries. This has been enjoyable thus far to run, so look for us again sometime soon.
So we're a little behind on decklists and payments, but we'll extend the deadline to the end of the first round which is 1 week from today.
If by then you haven't put forward an entry fee, you will not be eligible for prize support. So without further delay:
WEEK 1 PAIRINGS
mistercakes v. Etched Champion
Rocco111 v. UseLess
ScottW v. taconaut
TheArchitect v. Fjaulnir
Both players must post results in this thread.
Good luck!
haven't heard anything back from @etched champion.

Taconaut dunked on twice by ScottW despite him mulling in both games!
