Thread: Bumbleberry Pie

    Re: Bumbleberry Pie

    There's a "Sarcomancy Variant" in the new Ixalan set:

    Corpses of the Lost
    {2}{B}
    Enchantment

    Skeletons you control get +1/+0 and have haste.

    When Corpses of the Lost enters the battlefield, create a 2/2 black Skeleton Pirate creature token.

    At the beginning of your end step, if you descended this turn, you may pay 1 life. If you do, return Corpses of the Lost to its owner’s hand. (You descended if a permanent card was put into your graveyard from anywhere.)
    Copying with Estrid gives another 2/2 and also copies the +1/+0 buff. Each time you fetch (or you sac a Saga, Hopeless Nightmare etc) you can return to hand and hardcast for another token too. With the buff and all the tokens having haste it seems it would end games very quickly. (Similar to History of Benalia in that sense)

    I am new, but I think Corpses of the Fallen has the potential to be a very strong card in Sarcomancy decks. It's definitely a card to keep an eye on.

    Re: Bumbleberry Pie

    The cases from the new set are very similar to quests or classes. 2 in particular play for this deck well enough to encourage me to play magic again.

    Case of the Filched Falcon
    {U}
    Enchantment — Case
    When this Case enters the battlefield, investigate. (Create a Clue token. It’s an artifact with “{2}, Sacrifice this artifact: Draw a card.”)
    To solve — You control three or more artifacts. (If unsolved, solve at the beginning of your end step.)
    Solved — {2}{U}, Sacrifice this Case: Put four +1/+1 counters on target noncreature artifact. It becomes a 0/0 Bird creature with flying in addition to its other types.

    A blue abundant growth. A 4/4 uncounterable flyer is very relevant. It plays with serras sanctum, the artifact + enchantment land, and rite of oblivion well.

    Case of the Stashed Skeleton
    {1}{B}
    Enchantment — Case
    When this Case enters the battlefield, create a 2/1 black Skeleton creature token and suspect it. (It has menace and can’t block.)
    To solve — You control no suspected Skeletons. (If unsolved, solve at the beginning of your end step.)
    Solved — {1}{B}, Sacrifice this Case: Search your library for a card, put it into your hand, then shuffle. Activate only as a sorcery.

    A token maker that draws you a demonic tutor when the token dies. Types match with the curse card above.

    Other neat synergies:

    Dress down clears your skeleton’s name so you can tutor. Nothing to see here!

    Incidental food creation like witches cottage powers up the falcon case.

    Cracking a case turns on descend for the curse of the drowned.

    This is weird because cases can only be solved on your end step, so cracking it won't trigger descend that end step.
    Unless you solved it last turn and are cracking it this turn.

    Re: Bumbleberry Pie

    This also might be good enough:

    1U

    Legendary Enchantment

    When Proft's Eidetic Memory enters the
    battlefield, draw a card.
    You have no maximum hand size. At the beginning of combat on your turn, if you've drawn more than one card this turn, put X +1/+1 counters on target creature you control, where X is the number of
    cards you've drawn this turn minus one.

    Vs omen of the sea, is Scry 2, flash, and non-legendary better than a ton of +1/+1 counters?
