While I like the design of the Voidwalker, what really rubs the wrong way is how it's significantly more powerful than any hatebear white has to offer. Just look at the stats + evasion at its costs. And just like Opposition Agent and Hullbreacher, it's asymmetrical (you could still word it in a way to make it not abusable by yourself). Of course white is bad when you take one of their core strenghts, give it other colors and make it better there. Imagine if green suddenly got burn spells that would hit for 6 for with upside.
How so? Because it can add to the Storm count?
3 of the types are easy. How hard is it to get some 4th type in there? Especially when there are enchantments like "R: At EOT destroy planeswalkers. Cycling". Old versions of Burn played Baubles for suboptimal "thinning" . Modern Shadows play it for that and Delirium too. Could also have Street Wraith.
Burn really wants creatures with haste or ones that do damage without attacking. So that body really isn't a great fit.
I think the card is a better fit in a more tempo oriented kind of thing. It doesn't play great with 1 and 0 cc counterspells, but flipping brainstorm or ponder is pretty good value if you can get that 3 power body to 1-for-1 with an opponent's card.
It might also work in the Vengevine/Hollow One piles.
Delirium is kinda hard with cascade. You want to play cheap stuff that you can cycle into the bin for delirium but then you cascade into Urzas bauble or Seal of fire. Meh
“Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.
Two turns of Hexproof in a row while also gaining some life doesn't seem that bad as a SB card.
Ofc the red evoke magus doesn't get flash.
Pyrokinesis that can hit PWs is decent though.
Flash would have made it strictly better compared to Pyrokinesis, though.
How does it compare to Pyrokinesis, though? The body is very aggressive, but also fragile since dies to Bolt. Being able to hit PW is great, sorcery speed not so much. Would this be playable in Red Stompy decks?
Naw, they can't play Suspend with Chalice.Would this be playable in Red Stompy decks?
Seems solid as sideboard card.
Pretty good protection + blows up most annoying things.
Well, it is situational, and usually if you are looking for this kind of removal effect it has to be guaranteed, and tbh, is hat to be instant speed too.
For example dealing with this sword made to deal with jace, is a joke for jace itself (not even talking about oko), and most of the times if you need artifact destruction you need it asap.
Also, no deck really relies on pw, so your opponent can just not play any and make your sword useless.
At best, with this card, you are making your own trygon predator, which could be relevant, but in very few MU
