    Cycling

I think this is a low-key strong deck. I've been powering through Diamond with it over the last week:

    Creature (20)
    4 Drannith Healer
    4 Hollow One
    4 Drannith Stinger
    4 Flourishing Fox
    4 Valiant Rescuer

    Sorcery (4)
    4 Go for Blood

    Instant (4)
    4 Zenith Flare

    Enchantment (8)
    4 Footfall Crater
    4 Cast Out

    Land (24)
    7 Plains
    5 Mountain
    4 Forgotten Cave
    4 Secluded Steppe
    4 Needleverge Pathway

    Sideboard (15)
    4 Baffling End
    3 Forsake the Worldly
    3 Sweltering Suns
    2 Reptilian Reflection
    1 Abandoned Sarcophagus
    1 Jegantha, the Wellspring
    1 Grafdigger's Cage

I've only tried it in BO1 so far. If I catch an opponent that didn't keep removal, the Fox makes quick work of them. Cast Out and Go For Blood are great, but it is usually correct to just cycle them away.

I feel like the mana base could be working harder for me. Some number of man-lands would give the deck additional reach to knock out a control pilot that is about to stabilize.

I often see Jegantha randomly thrown into decks , can I ask why? Is it just because you can and it adds a beefy body when steam runs out?

    Re: Cycling

That is my assumption. It certainly doesn't provide any synergies with the deck.

But as you established in the "State of the Game" thread, BO1 is the most common way Historic is played... So if your sideboard isn't being used, and it doesn't cost you anything when constructing your deck, it would be a waste NOT to include a companion.

Also, I cut 5 basics and added a playset of Sacred Foundry and a singleton Den of the Bugbear. Initial testing supports this being correct.

    ....
I have no doubts, even if the sideboard is being used, just look at this:

Also, always wondered if Abandoned Sarcophagus could ever be made to work in cycling decks...

I dunno if this violates any rules...

But here's a game I had against Phoenix that was entertaining.
