Limited play is the primary factor in determining rarity.

This makes me feel feelings I haven't experienced since Svyelun was spoiled.
Probably not enough to make Fishies viable again but nice.
At this point you could play a 100 card deck with just merfolk lords and lands just for the lulz for them printing a million lords.

This seems super good as you can GSZ it and you don't need Glimpse.

This should be super good in 4c goodstuff.dec

A rare that starts the game in your opening hand.

Edit: The new lords are really good.

    GSZable Glimpse lord

You have to pay each time, though. But isn't Fiend Artisan all the rage in Elves now?

The ability is not as good as Glimpse, but it lasts multiple turns, they stack (with Glimpse you pay G and draw 2), and it's an Elf lord that taps for G (with Heritage Druid) and pumps your team. With Heritage Druid or Cradle it could help convert extra mana to extra cards.

In principle, it could fit into something like lantern control or a non-token artifact deck like Krark Clain Ironworks.
Root Maze + Winter Orb would also be on color. Just tap your Winter Orb at the opponent's EoT, then enjoy your untapped lands.

The exile draw goes really well with Sylvan Library, too.

    Would Moon Stompy want this?

Don't think it's the right deck. It's not going to get around your own Trinispheres, and even setting that aside, the nature of Moon Stompy is that you run a lot of spells with lots of colorless in their mana cost, and no one drops- which is the opposite of what the defilers want you to do.

It is a lot of value for four mana though, I wouldn't be shocked if it sees a home somewhere.

Probably not a deck that's also packing Ancient Tombs though.

Well, didn't expect these at common:

Doesn't this have implications for Pauper? Pretty sure those should have more interactions with land types than other tapped "dual" lands in the format.

About the Kavu: 4/4 First strike is a decent body. The cost reduction is probably not that relevant. And how many red permanent spells are you going to cast afterwards? If it had combo'd with Punishing Fire, it might have been a different story.

Everything is either nostalgic or new to the target audience so endless retellings are most what we're going to get.

This guy seems pretty bad unless someone can think of any big brain plays you can pull with this outside of the artwork.

Naw those are real proxy duals. Ban them in your local meta and rename them Underground Sea etc.

    T1 something like discard
    T2 this guy
T3 land, Priest of Gix, Dark Ritual, sac Priest, fetch Griselbrand

    Not exactly Legacy material, though.

What you do is sacrifice a Feral Shadow to search up Spirit of the Night. Don't even need to have the other 2 sac-to-tutor dudes to pull of this timeless classic.

Pretty bad. The way to make it work is with haste and then it's a semi-respectable back up plan for reanimator decks (in modern)

  19. #79

Re: [DMU] Dominaria United: Reunited and it Feels So Good!

Doesn't even make the cut in Modern Reanimator. Thoroughly outclassed by Priest of Fell Rights, Persist, and Unburial Rights.

There isn't a Reanimator deck in Pioneer and Explorer to speak of but, who knows, maybe this card could make it somewhat viable. Realistically, it wont since the best "reanimator" deck in those formats is Greasefang/Parhelion and this card is nowhere near as potent as that. The other issue in Pioneer/Explorer is there isn't anything game-ending threat to cheat in. Best you can do is Razaketh, Vilis, or Dreadfeast Demon.

If this sees play it won't be in Reanimator. I would be in a Cleric deck with a (backup) plan of cheating in a fatty.
