Totally not the meta I expected. I thought there would be ingot chewer, some non artifact threats (drake, tempting wurm, hierarch), and some T1 big artifact like leveler or eater of days. And there were non of those :)

So I guess we hsve to beat a couple of gree 1/1 deathtouch for next round?

I'm going to delay this week's round by 24 hours to Wednesday at 11AM EDT because I met a whole bunch of people in person who are interested in 3cb in general, and hopefully this specific version of 4cb.

This round is a backbuild round, and the floor deck is Darkmoss Bridge, Fang of Shigeki, Fang of Shigeki, Strip Mine. So you are trying to build the most-losing deck, but it has to beat this floor deck. All vintage creatures and lands are legal except for cards from Unfinity and the banlist below (which is just the cards from the winning decks of the last two rounds). The google form for submissions is in my signature. You can also see the entries and scores from previous rounds of this season in the other part of my signature. If you submitted a deck and want to change it, just submit a new one.

It's really not important, but I took a class in cryptography once and this is the closest thing I have to a reason to encode anything (not that I needed the class to understand how to type into a textbox on a website). My math might be off, but I think you kill on turn 10, and I would kill on turn 10 if I could copy a land that made black right away, but I'm slowed a turn by needing to make a charge counter.

Dunerider Outlaw actually comes out turn 3, not turn 4, but it doesn't matter because Aphemia is in time to block it, and then Hierarch would win. So you can't attack, but I can't attack either because the Outlaw races faster.

In general, I didn't predict much of what ended up being played. I considered Blightbeetle, but I didn't have as good a shell as either of the decks here. But I had this exact four in my gauntlet and I almost played it. I'm surprised how few people played enchantment threats.

For a threat I was torn between Nyxborn Rollicker (vs disenchants), Arcbound Worker (DL vs T2 Blightbeetle!), and Soltari Foot Soldier (WL instead of DD vs generic 1/1). Small edges, tough to predict the meta.

I really love the floor/ceiling concept, and I really dislike the card pool limitation, so my suggestion for next round is "exactly the same but with all vintage legal cards".
The above disagrees with Wrath of Pie, who didn't offer an explanation, but it seems like a pretty clear draw to me.

Some of my matches involve some calculation I'll do later (though if I had responsibly locked in at any time during the week, I'd have easily swept with Taiga, Taiga, Swarm Shambler, Granger Guildmage).

For next season, I'm leaning towards full vintage floor/ceiling, with no restrictions, because I don't think we've done that. Maybe only 8 rounds.

There's also the issue that this forum still isn't accepting new registrations, and I'm not sure what to do about that.

Edit: Shambler is always bigger and OTP Shambler can attack as bigger than any Hangarback. But you can double block and get Thopters, so attacking is bad for me. Eventually you reach 12/12, suicide attack one Hangarback into me, and get 12 Thopters. Then you can attack with 10 per turn and leave 2 to chump.
