    Terminus is also an option.

It's harder to set up without Brainstorm and Ponder, but you can pitch it to Solitude, hardcast it more easily (sol lands), or put it back with Jace.

Supreme Verdict control decks rely on basics to be able to consistently curve into 1UWW. Fox has written a lot on that. If Wasteland/Port/Thalia can keep you off Verdict, then Verdict is not a reliable answer vs tempo/aggro (Delver, Goblins, Thalia decks). Current UW decks pull off Verdict because Prismatic Vista lets them play more basics. Before Vista, Terminus was the standard answer. It's more reliable in the face of aggro + mana denial. That might improve the Delver matchup.

In terms of getting a removal out ASAP, Terminus still seems worse.
If you are able to hard cast it with sol lands or set it up with Jace, then you should be fine anyway.
If it's just one threat a 3 mana Gideon or Dovin might be enough.
Actually Dovin, Hand of Control might be really good as it is easy to cast and is a nice resistor.
