Every game is situational, sometimes Mycosynth Lattice is better and sometimes Paradox Engine is better.

There is room for both these powerful cards in the sideboard and the decision of what one is best is usually decided based on the current game state.

And Karn, the Great Creator can be activated multiple times for both.

With the recent success of Mystic Forge decks at Eternal Weekend this year with three Mystic Forge decks placing first, second and third, all with 10-1 records and one of them winning the entire event with 1155 players from around the world; I would like to reopen this thread for discussion.

At this point the deck is already tuned. Their team did an exceptional job testing and tuning.

Glaring Fleshraker & Kozilek's Command add depth to win through board states the old deck couldn't (4x Ouphe!!!).

Paradox Engine is relegated to a 1-of in the side, too expensive and conditional for the main.

Vexing Bauble is dumb as protection + artifact enabler, a big step up from the Defense Grids I had suggested.

The new Urza's lands provide a huge boost of mana, even more with Candelabra.

Prolonging "Protection from Everything" with Stasis Coffin & Obelisk now seems unnecessary. It's a pillowfort strategy. But the format is full of explosive wincons rather than grindy control - it's better to spend those slots on winning than on prolonging protection.

Karn can still get protection by grabbing the 4th One Ring.
