    What about Thespian Stage? The good old days when decks are sweet.

    Merry Christmas to you and your family, Hollywood.
    I am convinced that WotC is "dumbing" the game because of all the stupid posts they come across on MTG-related forums

    I actually had to stop at the tracks for a freight train tonight. I was amazed that it would be running (and it had only three boxcars).

    Not sure lol

    Anecdotally, it’s interesting to look back ten years and see the list I was playing here. It’s very close to modern-day Golgari Depths.

    Merry Christmas!

    Can you keep the DECK alive though?

    Maybe with the newer upgrades to Krosan Cloudscraper

    //Creatures: 9
    3 Griselbrand
    1 Ghalta, Primal Hunger
    1 Impervious Greatwurm
    1 Apex Altisaur
    1 Autochthon Wurm
    1 The Ur-Dragon
    1 Sutured Ghoul

    //Spells: 29
    4 Dark Ritual
    4 Duress
    4 Entomb
    4 Buried Alive
    4 Reanimate
    4 Shallow Grave
    2 Collective Brutality
    3 Nourishing Shoal

    //Fast Mana: 7
    4 Lotus Petal
    3 Chrome Mox

    //Lands: 15
    4 Verdant Catacombs
    2 Polluted Delta
    2 Bayou
    1 Scrubland
    6 Snow-Covered Swamp

    //Sideboard: 15
    2 Nature's Claim
    3 Abrupt Decay
    3 Defense Grid
    2 Thoughtseize
    1 Tendrils of Agony
    1 Children of Korlis
    1 Ashen Rider
    1 Plague Engineer
    1 Collective Brutality

    Griselbrands because it seems bad to play Reanimate without it.

    After that there are a few singleton green fatties that can all fall under Sutured Ghoul or be Reanimated on their own as decent threats. Worldspine Wurm is even an option if you have Shallow Grave handy.

    For maximum synergy, the green fatties can also be pitched into Grishoalbrand to draw more cards. Finally, you could even conceivably Storm out with Children of Korlis and Tendrils of Agony and fast mana.

    Re: [Deck] The Polar Express

    Do you have an updated list?

    Power creep has only helped your creature pool beyond Polar Kraken:
    Worldspine Wurm
    Impervious Greatwurm
    Death's Shadow
    Heirophant, Bio-Titan
    Ghalta, Primal Hunger
    Emrakul, the Promised End
    Jokulmorder
    Emrakul, the Aeons Torn

    Shadow is the easiest to cram in as a fair backup threat if the reanimation plan fails.
    Buried Alive -> Sutured Ghoul + 2 Shadow -> 26/26 trample

    With 4 Shadow you only need 0-1 "dead slot" instead of multiple Polar Kraken-type creature. That slot can be used on getting above 26/26 if you need more to win. There are a couple decent options above at 15/15 or bigger. Worldspine Wurm works well as a standalone threat with Shallow Grave. Emrakul, the Aeons Torn does too, or it can be Entombed to reshuffle your graveyard (e.g. counter Surgical Extraction). Impervious Greatwurm can be Reanimated and beats most spot removal, if that is a concern. Or you can just stick with 4 Shadow + Sutured Ghoul, with other standalone reanimation targets.

    Sutured Shadow 2022

    //Spells: 32
    4 Brainstorm
    4 Ponder
    4 Thoughtseize
    4 Dark Ritual
    4 Entomb
    4 Reanimate
    4 Shallow Grave
    4 Buried Alive

    //Creatures: 12
    4 Death's Shadow
    4 Grief
    1 Sutured Ghoul
    1 Serra's Emissary
    1 Archon of Cruelty
    1 Griselbrand

    //Mana: 16
    4 Polluted Delta
    4 Verdant Catacombs
    3 Watery Grave
    1 Breeding Pool
    1 Overgrown Tomb
    1 Underground Sea
    1 Island
    1 Swamp

    //Sideboard: 15
    3 Assassin's Trophy
    2 Brazen Borrower
    1 Plague Engineer
    1 Toxic Deluge
    1 Pernicious Deed
    1 Dress Down
    2 Flusterstorm
    3 Defense Grid
    1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn

    If you draw Shadow, it can enter the graveyard "fairly" (cast for B) instead of needing a discard outlet. It can also be cast fairly as a threat after lifeloss (Thoughtseize, Reanimate, fetches, shocks, opponent's threats).

    Grief pitches dead cards in hand for value, serves as a fair threat that ignores the GY, and works well with T1 Reanimate. The Reanimate combo also sets up Shadow (fetch-> Grave + Reanimate Grief -> 13 life on turn 1).

    Edit: Another option could be to play Phyrexian Dreadnought and Death's Shadow together, tied together by Dress Down (good in current meta) and by being fodder for 1-of Sutured Ghoul. That may get too crowded though.

    Merry Christmas!

    This deck has been scamming before scam!

    You could play a creature package of:
    4 Death's Shadow
    4 Grief
    4 Troll
    1 Sutured Ghoul

    Then you can play fair scam with an alternate combo plan of Buried Alive -> 26/26 Ghoul
