    Favorite Card

What is your favorite card and why? No, I don't mean which card you think is best; I want to know the card that every time you play, you smile.

My favorite is SotF, it does everything I want a card to do. When it hits play I feel like I have a way out of every situation, and I can't just turn my brain on autopilot. It makes me search for solutions the the problems presented and yet still keeps the game interactive.

I first started playing this card from a championship ed. Rec-Sur deck when I was about 10-12. The funny thing is, is when I bought the deck I had no idea what it was or even how it was supposed to work. When I asked one of the older players he said that it was the interaction between SotF and Recurring Nightmare. I stared at those cards for about 5 minutes and still couldn't figure it out. Then I had him explain it to me, and EUREKA! my love for SotF was born.

And if you aren't distracted, you have Trample.

    Nantuko Monestary.

Its my all time favorite card. I won so so many casual games back when I started with the GW deck because I had 2 in my md that I could swing with after Wrathing the board. THe same two I uses to play with are now signed by Rob Alexander .

Mind's Desire. It's the epitome of the "engine" combo deck, which is second only two Wake in terms of my favorite decks.

    Illusionary Mask

A card that was useless until 96 when Mirage came out, and undiscovered until years later when the morph rules made it better (not using the stack to flip and all). The 'naught combo delivered me my first Vintage tournament win. Masknaught was my weapon of choice during the first inception of Grow/Hulk Smash.

Demonic Consultation, because its probably the most powerful card in the game (in a vacuum), followed closely by Islandfish Jasconius, because he's too cute.

    Ovinomancer.

    Duh.
Early one morning while making the round,
    I took a shot of cocaine and I shot my woman down;
I went right home and I went to bed,
I stuck that lovin' .44 beneath my head.

For me, has to be Rancor. Back in the early days, my friend's and I used to play alot of aggro and that was the card that really decided the winner. Plus it's freaking broken. More people should start playing it with Goyf.

    For the ability:

Reanimate. I play it in a BGW Control-Aggro deck I've invented and it seems to always randomly wins me games I shouldn't. Noone expects it getting played, and with all the removal I play in the deck, I can always steal my opponents critters. Nothing better than a EOT Krosan Grip followed with Reanimate on a Razormane Masticore.

    For Flavor:

Grizzly Bears:Don't try to outrun one of Dominia's Grizzlies; it'll catch you, knock you down, and eat you. Of course, you could run up a tree. In that case you'll get a nice view before it knocks the tree down and eats you.

Demonic Tutor. Nothing says "I have an answer" like the card that finds answers on the cheap, with a very close Vampiric Tutor in second. Along with those, I'd say Mind's Desire. That card just SCREAMS "YOU JUST WON!" every time I drop that bomb.
