    Tiny Legion (BGRW Warriors tribal)

    Hola!

Okay, maybe this should be in Casual forum but I try to find out first if this could be semi-competitive deck at all.
I know landbase looks awful. That was the late addition when I noticed that Wild Nacatl was a warrior too. Initial plan was just load deck full of 2/1 mardu warriors and try to abuse them.

So the disruption package is included. (Toughseizes, IoK, Wastes, Ports)
But one enemy fatty seems like ruining this deck without Blood-Chin Rager.

    //Creatures (29)
    //1cc (18)
    4x Zurgo Bellstriker
    4x Bloodsoaked Champion
    4x Wild Nacatl
    2x Mardu Woe-Reaper
    2x Sunblade Elf
    2x Goblin Bushwhacker
    //2cc (10)
    4x Chief of the Edge
    4x Keldon Marauders
    2x Blood-Chin Rager
    //3cc (1)
    1x Blood-Chin Fanatic

    //Spells (10)
    4x Lightning Bolt
    2x Inquisition of Kozilek
    4x Toughtseize

    //Lands (21)
    4x Rishadan Port
    3x Wasteland
    2x Verdant Catacombs
    2x Arid Mesa
    2x Bloodstained Mire
    1x Windswept Heath

    2x Badlands
    1x Bayou
    1x Plateau
    1x Savannah
    1x Scrubland
    1x Taiga

    Maybeboard:
Countryside Crusher Helps stacking lands away and ok card too.
Gatekeeper of Malakir Didn't know this was a warrior at all. BBB a bit hard to get.
Goblin Bushwhacker RR a bit hard to get.
Jagged Poppet Hand should be empty quite soon
    Mardu Shadowspear Surprise
    Spike Jester Surprise
Brutal Hordechief 4cc a bit too much
Mardu Strike Leader Cute but does not enough
    Secure the Wastes Too slow
Kolaghan's Command Maybe one or two main?
Immortal Servitude Not sure of this, should give haste to guys or be a better finisher. Deck needs some recursion still.
Aether Vial and Rishadan Port play Goblin mode?
    Vampire Lacerator
Cover of Darkness more EDH card?

Edit: Couldn't find the link to card icon.. too old and too few posts. Have to try to find it. :)

Good advice from long Zoo player - drop Rishadan Port or cut all Nacatl's and similar land-type boost creatures.

Yeah the manabase surely looks horror. I think is better keep Ports and get rid off Nacatl to have a chance at all with this deck. Winning some stupid combo deck with creatures like Zurgo and Chief of the Edges gives me satisfication. Or if someone has to force a warrior.

Yep it means good bye to Nacatl and his elf friend. But ditching green might be necessary.

Any ideas for the best amount of 1 and 2 drops? Currently only Blood-chin Fanatic looks good enough finisher for a three drop.

There is some true about legacy, that it's a fast and hard format, let me tell you some of it:

"If your deck can't win turn 4 and interact with opponent you lose".

It's sad for aggro decks, since turn 4 is really early for creature base aggro, but if you can't win until this turn:
    a) you will be dead by combo deck
    b) you will lose all your creatures by Terminus and locked by counterbalance
    c) you will lose advantage of cheap effective creature by 1UG 2/2 draw 3 or 1/1 Strix draw a card .. from shardless BUG
    d) you will have similar life as your opponent but your resources will be devastated, and your next spells will be countered
    e) you will lose all your lands, and your creatures will be sacrificed by The Tabernacle effect..
    f) read a) but will anihilator 6 rampaging Emmy from Sneak Attack or Grisel
    g) will will lose race with 6/6 lifelink, vigilance with trigger ability draw card + shock, with activated ability protection for chosen color.
    h) You will overrun by similar number of Elves which will be 8/8 trample each thanks to Craterhoof..

Those aren't abstractive options those are real decks:

    a) Is any storm deck like ANT, Belcher or even Dredge
    b) Miracles
    c) Shardless BUG
    d) Any Tempo like RUG, BUG or Grixs
    e) Any loam deck
    f) Other non-storm Combo like Reanimator, TinFins or Sneak Attack
    g) Death & Taxes
    h) Elves

    This mean you need/or:
a)Some really strong reach factor, to be as fast as Burn - Zoo used Price of Progress in heavy 3 color meta, you can use some heavy burn spells (2cmc - 4 dmg)
b)Some control elements like hatebears (actually Burn have 4 MD answers vs Storm combo, with Vortex can be named as any Blade Control)
c)Bullet tutored answers vs certain deck on opponent site (GSZ + bullets like Maverick, which can be to slow or current meta)
    d) Raw card advantage like Goblins, which is still not enough for current metagame.

New deck should 4/8 cover points to be worth testing.

Actually this upper words should be pinned in this section, anyone disagree ?

Yep fair post that should be seen by more individuals here.

It looks like that it is hard to get little warriors even to Zoo level in Legacy. Black color gives access to disruption and low mana curve to land denial. Zoo creatures are just fatter and better, still.

// Honestly I know that this could be semi-playable in modern. Miss the old days when you could try some random things.

Moved to Casual. I am sorry but this is not a developing competitive deck.

No problems mate. Should have posted already here.

I think there is two ways to do this build. Modern legal mardu warriors or just casual warrior tribal fighting treefolk and other casual builds.
Maybe I start with the casual build first adding fun cards from maybeboard.

Modern is a good place to take aggressive decks. The format is less hostile to them. You will need interaction sure, but creature removal can often carry you the distance in Modern unlike in Legacy.

If green mana is dropped Stoke the Flames, Hymn to Tourach and even Fireblast come in mind. The problem is that I dunno if I talk to myself in this subforum.

I thought that might be an issue, that's why I left the link in the Developing section that can be followed. Also keeping an eye on this myself.

First you have to work out what your planing to make your deck do. You need an identity, then you build. I think yes, you want to go to three colours anyway, but the question to then ask is not "What to add?" But "What's my builds plan?"

Re: Tiny Legion (BGRW Warriors tribal)

Hi, resident Tribal Wars enthusiast here.

I was also surprised how many creatures have the warrior creature type. With that said, there aren't a ton of cards that really benefit you from playing warriors as opposed to any other creature type. However, I've built tribal decks around way jankier tribes.

The warrior's best general is Chief of the Edge. This isn't anything to write home about. I don't think I'd even run Chief of the Scale. For WB your warriors should really be getting at least +1/+1 and an ability like first strike. I guess that's why these generals are UC as opposed to Rare. This is why Merfolk is a good tribal deck.

You're running 3 or 4 colors so I think Cavern of Souls is a must have. Don't get cute with the rest of the mana-base. I'd take out ports and wastes.

    Rhys the Redeemed
    Den Protector
    Wild Nacatl
    Mardu Woe-Reaper
    Zurgo Bellstriker
    Blood-Chin Rager
Are the warriors I'd start with

    Mardu Charm
    Secure the Wastes
    Mardu Strike Leader
Can increase your numbers if you want to up the CC

    Obsidian Battle-Axe
    Could be fun

I guess you either want to go for a zoo strategy with the smaller creatures and some burn. Perhaps you can swarm your opponent by producing as many warriors as possible. You could go with some type of equipment strategy. I just find this tribe kind of boring, sorry. They need a better general or some other cards that really provides a big benefit to playing warriors over just simply a zoo strategy where the creatures happen to be warriors.
Fools dig for water, corpses or gold
The ice in my teeth keep the Cristal cold
I be shoot'n lava around like an uzi
Watch me turn this glacier into a jacuzzi
I'm so hot people standing around me, just to stay warm
Castin' so many spells looks like I'm playin' Storm
I fuck all your creatures without any lotion
Skeet in yo face, Erratic Explosion
Every time you look I'm doing 2 to your dome!
So scoop up your cards and take your broke ass home
