So for example in game 3, the line I would have taken is cast mox discarding thicket, play taiga, pass the turn with P fire up for their 1 drop. On turn 2 I would have played depths and gambled for stage. It could obviously back-fire if I discard the stage, but IMO it is the best line for conserving life and getting the combo as quick as possible.
Fair enough. I'm pretty sure I would have won that game had I not discarded Mox Diamond, so your line sounds reasonable to me.
