I wonder if Cut // Ribbons competes with Sudden Shock for spots? Cut // Ribbons wins the game under Salvagers + LED.

I think the split second is worth it. We have about 10 ways to win with infinite mana already. And this win con still uses the same means, so if the combo gets Extracted, we're beat. I prefer Leyline + Helm or a SFM package over that.

Didn't like the w/b version. It's not too explosive then the w/u one.
Monastery mentor is sometimes ocword in both versions. They normally get bolted or removed (it's not expplosive).
Trying to find a way without using imperial recruiter (impossible for me in real life). Should some bang version. Any ideias from the base deck ?

I played the BW yesterday and I went 13-1 against Sneak and Show and BUG Delver. Tutor is actually so good. Will keep up trying that.

yea i really liked having tutor in the list. were you still running 3 salvager? i upped mine to 4 when i played it.

edit: also the deck can be quite fast, you need a god draw but the deck could do this.

mox opal, led, led, land, infernal tutor, ballista, X.

play land + opal, led, led, cast infernal crack LED's. get salvager. cast salvager, recur led's and then ballista for kill.

sure it requires 6 cards, but this is a bomberman list that could potentially win turn 1.

    Land:
    4x Marsh Flats
    4x Ancient Tomb
    4x City of Traitors
    2x Scrubland
    2x Cavern
    1x Plains
    1x Swamp

    Creature:
    4x Salvager
    4x Mentor
    4x Ballista

    Artifact:
    4x LED
    4x Lodestone Bauble
    4x Urza's Bauble
    4x Chalice
    3x Mox Opal
    2x Signet
    2x EE
    2x Bridge
    1x Jitte*

    Sorcery:
    4x Tutor

Not sure about the Jitte. I've noticed where the Lodestone costing 1 to draw is annying, but I like that it wins. I made him draw his deck with a Sneak Attack in play. I would've needed Shimmer to win. I like Tutors a bunch and I'll try to jam games tomorrow.

aw man, you didn't like magus of the will? i thought it was such a great idea in the deck. especially with cavern. i suppose it's a bit better with mishra's bauble. i really liked it in the draws i had, even though it's a bit a non-bo when you cast will you can't go infinite.

i had cut the jitte and a signet as well. ensnaring bridge is a good idea. i hadn't thought of that. my list was greedy. i think i was running all the petals and some mox opals. haven't taken the list out for a spin in a while, but i'll test some games tonight.

i also like a 1 of helm of obedience in the sb so that you can have an alternative win with leylines out of the sb.

you could also run canonist in the sb.

    Sideboard I was playing with:
    4 Leyline of the Void
    3 Oblivion Ring
    2 Canonist
    2 Containment Priest
    2 Disenchant
    1 Helm
    1 Batterskull

Magus is such an odd card. Only profitable if you have a good amount of 0 drops. 6 mana for a couple cantrips seems meh. Maybe I'm not giving it a fair shake.

What matches do you think it shines? It doesn't accelerate the combo at all. Maybe as a one of to use with infernal tutor during a real grindy match.

for me it's a must deal with threat. it's just one of those cards that if they don't answer, you're likely to get an equivalent of 3-7 cards. you can also play out your creatures again and tutor is pretty nuts with led's in the graveyard. definitely a value card, but i'm a huge fan of anything that has that big of a yield on it.

B/W Infernal Tutor option looks interesting. It's a tradeoff replacing Imperial Recruiter with Infernal Tutor, though - on the one hand, Infernal can get anything and can be chained to maximize Mentor, but on the other hand, sometimes it's hard to get hellbent, it's not castable off of Cavern of Souls, and it doesn't chump block or beat down ever.

For the record, the Imperial Recruiter lists can win on turn 1 as well. It also takes 6 or 7 cards. Below are a couple examples.
LED, LED, Mox Opal, Ancient Tomb, Imperial Recruiter, Walking Ballista
    or
Auriok Salvagers, LED, any 0cc artifact, Mox Opal, Mox Opal, Ancient Tomb, (+Walking Ballista if the 0cc artifact isn't a Bauble)

Infernal tutor is bad whey they get countered. It's just owful to play infernal tutor, cracking led and tutor gets countered.

Only 2 cavern of souls seems not enough. 3-4 is a good number.
Myr doesn't fit in this list ?

Shimmer is tight, especially with no Recruiter. Infernal has never been awkward. I actually Had 2 LED in play and played a Salvager. he had DRS, Pyromancer, 2 tokens and a needle on Salvager. Next turn I untap, play IT crack an LED, get O-Ring, hit needle and combo off. Love it.

Anybody getting games in? I got a GPT on Friday and am wondering which version you all had the most success with. I am leaning towards BW Baubleman.

I don't get much time to play in public these days, but I have the Imperial Baubleman (love the name) built up, pulling the Mentors for the full 4 Trinket Mages and I'm trying out the Shimmer Myr. Seems to work well at the kitchen table. Without real tournament experience run on, I'm keeping the Recruiters in partly for the flexibility of the Human-based sideboard, and partly because I want to justify having recently laid out the investment for the full Imperial Recruiter playset . I for one really hope you get a chance to run the WB version and can give us a good report!

Is cut // ribbons strong enough to run as a 4-of win condition main?

    Land:
    4x Arid Mesa
    4x Ancient Tomb
    1x Badlands
    2x City of Traitors
    2x Cavern
    1x Plains
    1x Mountain
    2x Plateau
    1x Karakas

    Creature:
    4x Salvager
    4x Recruiter
    4x Ballista

    Artifact:
    4x LED
    4x Urza's Bauble
    4x Chalice
    3x Mox Opal
    2x Lotus Petal
    1x Engineered Explosives

    Sorcery:
    4x Tutor
    3x Cut // Ribbons
    3x Warping Wail

    Planeswalker:
    2x Nahiri

    Sideboard:
    2x Bridge
    2x Kambal
    2x Canonist
    3x Leyline of the Void
    3x Mentor
    3x Oblivion Ring

List I jammed a couple games with tonight. Cut was really good against Delver and D&T. Also waayyyyyy less clicks on MTGO. (and suits people who want to use their shiny recruiters)

Should we be running Warping Wail?

Caleb Durward stomping Bob Huang 3-0 in the Quarterfinals of the Legacy Premier League

Caleb went for a pure WU build and replaced the the cutesy crap for a very solid back-up plan in form of Monastery Mentor. Seemed to work pretty well for him. Decklist:

    4x Ancient Tomb
    4x City of Traitors
    4x Cavern of Souls
    2x Tundra
    4x Plains

    4x Mox Opal
    4x Lotus Petal
    4x Lion's Eye Diamond

    4x Auriok Salvager
    4x Monastery Mentor
    4x Walking Ballista
    2x Trinket Mage

    4x Chalice of the Void
    4x Gitaxian Probe
    4x Urza's Bauble
    4x Mishra's Bauble

    Sideboard:
    2x Containment Priest
    1x Venser, Shaper Savant
    3x Ethersworn Canonist
    1x Disenchant
    3x Swords to Plowshares
    1x Karakas
    4x Tormod's Crypt
