What Does Your Source Name Mean?

I've actually PM'ed people just to ask them what their Source name meant. People have some pretty obscure names that can't be deciphered by the naked eye. So instead of PM'ing a million people, why not start a thread and ask.

I'll start with myself. My nickname growing up was "Cavi" which is what my family always calls me. So I decided to turn my nickname into something that sounded similiar to a Roman Emperor so to speak, so I came up with "Cavius" and added "The Great" at the end becuase I obviously think highly of myself (aside from Magic I'm pretty good at rapping and writing poetry, which is something I don't suck at). And that's how I came up with the name you all have grown familiar to hearing.

Now let me know what your name means and how you aquired it. Hopefully we can get as many people as possible to post on this thread cuz I'm really intrigued by this whole social experiment. Let us begin, shall we.

My old name "Klaan" was the result of a button mash (then cleaned up to be a little coherent) when I was pretty young for my first email. I ended up changing it about a month or two ago because people kept mistaking it for 'klan' with an extra 'a' and asked if I was racist & shit. When I played WoW, my toon was name "Toshirou" after the captain in Bleach. I got used to being called Tosh in vent and online so I figured I'd just change it to that.

On WoW my name was DarnJews (sorry baritone for the joking anti-sematism). I liked how it made people feel awkward to keep a conversation with me, this intrigued me to continue picking odd names, thefreakaccident is no different... I actually name myself that or DaCandyMann on anything I play/do now.

TheFreakAccident was also picked because my brother was just in a freak accident the day before I joined this sight

-He ran over a woman, whom he dragged behind him for many blocks, who finally broke herself free (yes, she lived), then landed in the middle of another road which caused a 10 car pile up... this was a long time ago in Arkansas.

    Killemall + CFH

If I were to make my name today, I wouldn't use CFH, because Pantera is pretty sub-par (CFH is a decent album, I suppose, but most of their other stuff is the epitome of mediocre), but I made this name in like 7th grade and it just stuck. I use it for basically everything.

Deathwing Zero actually ended up being two creations of mine.

The most common friends are used to was a fixture from my early high school days, when Gundam one-off series (Wing, X, etc) was just starting to import to the states from Japan. Anyone who knows Wing would be able to figure it out, it's a mix of Wing Custom Zero and Deathscythe Hellcustom. I even went as far as to draw out the gundam, which transformed much like Epyon.

Deathwing "himself" is an alter ego of mine, one I had created for an RPG I was working on at the time (and still do occasionally). The story behind that character was much a mixture of elements of Lucifer, Sephiroth, etc... the cliche fallen warrior that goes down their own path, usually as a necessary antagonist. The "Zero" added to him was his call sign, based on the number of people or gods he'd ever bow to again.

I got used to using the name for various game accounts, so it just stuck with me. Never really bothered to change it, and DWZ is a pretty easy acronym to remember, so it stuck with friends too.

Funny, I thought your name had something to do with Star Wars. I guess I was thinking you had some sort of Deathstar/Wing Commander conglamerate type name.

I'm a fantastically large bio nerd (nerd-size, not body-size), so I always choose obscure animals for my usernames. A solpugid (part of the family solifugae) happens to be my favorite invertebrate. Observe:

Cool! Giant Solifuge FTW! I had no idea that's what that card was referring to. Now it makes sense to me!

A solifuge is a generic term for a member of solifugae, yes. I was PISSED it wasn't a giant solpugid though, although I suppose I should be excited they printed a card that close at all.

Next we need a giant tarsier! (note: that's what my avatar is)

I met my now best friend in seventh grade. It was him that gave me my nick name of Kirby. from then on i gained a good appreciation for the Kirby game. MetaKnight (he's my avatar), was my favorite character from the games. I use it for most things that require a screenname.

I played my PS2 for 5 or 6 years. My first game that I played was Jak and Daxter (it came with the PS2). I played it and loved it and it has been my name for forums ever since.

I cant realy remember why i named my self technogeek5000, but i remember when and where i started using it. When Yu yu Hakusho Tcg was big i was on the boards as this name. I think that was 5-6 years ago. I basically use that on every single site i visit. I was the first person to come up it, i can gaurentee you that, but im not sure exactly what inspired the name.

Also apperantly people like the name. When i first went to make a yahoo ID, AIM ID, and several other sites for the first time, the name was taken. Also, I was told that the term "technogeek" was coined in a Nickolodean cartoon Danny Phantom a year ago.

noobas4urus_r3x was my account on WC3, and has proceeded to follow me pretty much every where around the interwebs. We were joking around one night that a dinosaur that ate noobs would be a noobivore, and a t-rex would then be a noobasaurus rex. It just kind of stuck I guess. Oh, and everything is cooler on bnet if you spell it with 1337.
