That card dodges the shit out of counterbalance.
they haunt minds...
As the original proponent of Rakalite I'm still behind it. I mean seriously, it's a sorcery speed Healing Salve that costs*.
I'm also still against creatures or anything that deals damage or mills, since it can theoretically win the game.
Arcum's Weathervane is horrible. I have a hard time thinking of any positive application.
How about Need for Speed? I recall this competing with Mudhole for worst card ever when Odyssey came out.
*Edit: And shit, it's fucking enchantments are discarded too.
Yeah, but it has an effect that's theoretically relevant to the game.
I'm pretty sure Great Wall is the single most useless card in the game.
Early one morning while making the round,
I took a shot of cocaine and I shot my woman down;
I went right home and I went to bed,
I stuck that lovin' .44 beneath my head.
I have to vote for Snowfall over Great Wall. Great Wall's effect is even more relevant than Snowfall's...but then again...it's very hard to tell, they all really suck. They must be the top3 of worst Magic cards.
If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it's probably delicious.

My vote goes to the card that costs 6 mana, taps and returns to your hand to prevent one damage. I forgot the name, but that one's pretty horrible.
I guess it's a house with infinite mana and that card that let's you do everything at instant speed.
Edit: I think the one I mentioned has been mentioned already.

Yeah Rakalite, although you don't have to tap it to use its ability. No, you have to pay 2 more mana.
I got it twice as a rare in my Chronicles pack at the time...as a 14 year old kid, who actually had to save money to buy a pack, I would rather have taken a shot at my nads.

Right, that one. Didn't read the thread thorougly enough.
The flavor text is pretty funny too, considering how bad the cards sucks. Urza realized it, and then he created Rakalite. No wonder he died.
And getting this as a rare in a Chronicles pack? My god.. that's just.. cruel.. Haha

My choices from before with pictures to add flavor...
I'm wondering if there ever was a game of Magic where a player dropped an Aysen Highway (improbable) and would have killed his opponent next turn with a plainswalking fatty (maybe a Purelaced Wood Elemental), only to have his opponent drop a Great Wall (improbable) and laugh at him...?
georgjorgeGeistreich sind schon die anderen.
I actually used Desecration Elemental in the sideboard of my SI deck last year. After game 1 if I suspect answers to the combo, I replace it with my sideboard of
4x Negator
3x Desecration
4x Confidant
4x Diabolic Edict
It's actually not that bad considering I had 4x Shield Sphere, 4x Phyrexian Walker...
Rakalite's bad, it's really bad. It's not as bad as some of you are thinking it is, though. You can paya bunch, all without passing priority, in order to prevent varying amounts of damage.
to stop a lightning bolt? Pure awesome.
My vote would go to with Mountain Stronghold, or some other land in that cycle.
There are a LOT of just shitty, god-awful cards mentioned in this thread but I still don't think there is any card that can be worse than these:
Tahngarth's Glare
Great Wall
Snowfall
Arcum's Weathervane
I would vote for Arcum's Weathervane or Tahngarth's Glare as the worst card ever printed. Great Wall could potentially be used in something ... I am not sure but there is probably a situation where it may have relevance.
Snowfall ..... theoretically if you played Mono-U with all snowlands, and ran Illusions of Grandeur, Snowfall could help you pay the upkeep to survive longer and win???
Tahngarth's Glare is the epitome of useless. It does nothing, rearrange the top three cards of each other's library .... so ....? I guess in a sligh deck you could try to delay the opponent answers to your threats on the board by putting it 2-3 draws away???
Arcum's Weathervane truly does nothing. Why would you not just play snow lands? Maybe because you are afraid of AVALANCE???????????? 4R X, sorcery, destroy X snow-covered lands!!!!! Weathervane could save 1-2 lands from AVALANCHE!!!! There is no benefit to playing a card that turns lands into snow-covered when you could just ..... play snow-covered lands.
I think it is a toss up between these 2. There is a lot of talk about Rakalite, which is terrabad, but with Urzatron going it could do something?? Or Metalworker action with lots of colorless mana?? Hell yeah!!
EDIT: I think nitewolf mentioned Extirpate since it OWNS TA/8threat.dec. Extirpate on Tombstalker .... gl winning?
"I just shot Marvin in the face!"
"Why the fuck'd you do that??"
Tahngarth's Glare definitely isn't the worse card. With a shuffle effect, it is a one-shot Top for your opponent with no drawback, something Red doesn't usually get.
Awful? Yup. Worst card ever? Not even close.

No one has ever won because Adventurer's Guildhouse was in their 60.
While the art for all is amazing, the "bands with other legends" cycle from Legends are probably the worst cards ever printed.
Aysen Highway is god-awful too.
Cannot be played in any tournament format. Even in an ante environment, it's terrible.
6 mana to add a single, random card to the ante, maybe.
Can only be used during your next upkeep.
50/50 odds you lose the game if your opponent wins the flip.
At least I can play Adventurers Guildhouse in my Reki, History of Kamagawa EDH.
Wow...I think you might have come up with a "winner"! The card not being playable in tournaments is a bonus though, since it prevents you from losing the game with it.
I can't think of ANY situation where I would want to play that. If I'm already winning, I certainly won't (and if I do, my opponent will just accept his loss if he loses the flip). And if I'm losing, my opponent adding a card to his ante will mean nothing at all since I won't get it. It's the opposite of a "win-more" card, a "lose-more" card.
I vote for that one over Aysen Highway (which, for the same cost, doesn't lose you the game).
