We will likely make it down from Kingston. Any chance on giving examples of 2nd-8th prizes per attendance?

I'll be there for sure with many people from Montreal. Hope we'll get people from Ontario and from Vermont/Main/NY.

If people need tips about where to go in Montreal, what's the best street to go to the tournament, I would gladly do it. I also might be ok offering to some people a place to sleep (maybe on the sofa or if you bring your sleeping bag) and a place to playtest the night before, etc.

If you guys want people from Ontario, you should post this on www.mtgontario.com.

Is this really going head to head with the PTQ in Montreal? If you had this the day after or something, it would be really appealing to come up for the weekend from New York state.

That's the same day as the Duel for Duals in Vestal, so highly unlikely anyone from the states is coming up. I'm kind of surprised gooba would go to this instead, but maybe it's closer.
“It's possible. But it involves... {checks archives} Nature's Revolt, Opalescence, two Unstable Shapeshifters (one of which started as a Doppelganger), a Tide, an animated land, a creature with Fading, a Silver Wyvern, some way to get a creature into play in response to stuff, some way to get a land into play in response to stuff (a different land from the animated land), and one heck of a Rube Goldberg timing diagram.

Didn't realize that it was the same day. I am not a fan of DfDs because the prize structure is too broken down and spaced out. If I make the trip and come in second, I barely break even on the day, and the first place prize isn't all that fantastic. A piece of beta power is a nice prize for a full day of magic and a trip.

That's funny, a lot of people (see: Virginians) complain about prize structures that are too top-heavy. Personal preference, I guess.

However, if attendance is High then prizes dramatically increase as I state in the thread. 75 players = Prizes being Doubled for ex.

I posted on mtgquebec asking why this is on the same date as the Montreal PTQ and the Vestal tourny (and a PTQ in London Ontario). I haven't a clue why they decided to schedule the tournament on the day with the most conflicts but if the date changes or something comes up I'll translate and post any new developments here.

I would come if I wasn't banned from Canadian soil. I have to work on that Queen's Pardon.
Survival will be good forever... kinda like a maraschino cherry.

    Quick post...

I'll try to post a more detailed price structure soon. (Working on that...it's not my store after all, just giving hell of a hand to make it happen this time and Again!!!)

    16 entries:
    24 entries:
    32 entries:
    40 entries:

As for the date, sorry but I don't think we'll change it. I didn't notice PTQ just before this weekend and here in Montreal Legacy/PTQ don't bring the same crowd usually. I guess a couple of person would had like to be at two places at the same time but that's their choice! I know mine, getting a Beta Time Walk for myself sounds better than maybe getting a flight to Hawaï.

Also the secondary prizes for the PTQ are really bad, like half a box of Shard of Alara bad.

I'll definitely be there to try to get my hands on that sweet prize.

It's nice that people from Ontario are considering making the trip; more good Legacy players = more fun !

This tournament is coming up and we know there is a tournament in New York and close by as well, but if anyone from the states is coming north, can you say so, so that we may prepare for more people. As of now, we're expecting around 30 to 50 people from the montreal area alone.

Re: [Saturday February 21] The biggest LEGACY Tournament in Montreal ever.

There's at least four other major tournaments within ~500km/300mi, so I wouldn't expect many people from outside Montreal.

Ok less than a week before the big day!

If there's any out of towners comming to the event please say so and I'll make sure you get a place reserved.
