I hate sealed with a passion, but having 2 byes makes it a little bit more bearable. I'll probably end up playing in the main event and then playing the Legacy side on Sunday after I scrub out the day before.

Is there anyone willing to let me crash in their hotel/house/apartment for saturday night. I'll pitch in on the room or throw you cash, however you want to do it. Send me a message, thanks. PS, I don't mind sleeping on the floor.

    88 people according to MTG.com.

Re: GP: Boston Legacy Side Events

Friday had 69 people with the top 8 looking like this:

    Goblins with Lavamancer beats Goblins

    Lorestill beats Eva Green

Survival with Natural Order beats either Affinity or 4 color Countertop

Survival Elves with Natural Order beats either Affinity or 4 color Countertop

Top 4 split for 250 each. The prizes were VERY top heavy.

Sunday's event had a few more people and it looked like there were many more Countertop decks in the field. I know Cedric Phillips made top 8 with 43 land and that 3 5-1-1s missed the top 8 on breakers. Unfortunately I didn't see the rest of the top 8 before I had to leave.

As far as I know Gerry Tompson made top 8 with 4c Intuition Control (not ITF)

On a side note I played Ugr Dreadstill and went 5-2
Round 1: Merfolk, Loss:1-2 (He may have top 8'd he was 5-1 going into the last round)
    Round 2: Merfolk, Won 2-0
Round 3: Mono Green Stompy, Won 2-0
Round 4: [Brassman] NLBrass, Lost 0-2 (despite being an 0-2 loss both games were insanely close, some of the funnest magic I've ever played!)
    Round 5: Reanimator, Won 2-0
Round 6: [Slay] Zoo, Won 2-0
    Round 7: Mirrorish, Won 2-1

Re: GP: Boston Legacy Side Events

I forgot to mention in my post that I was in the top 4 with the Lorestill deck. Two of my friends played a slightly tweaked list on Sunday and went 4-2-1 and 5-1-1 with the second getting 9th on breakers.

The Survival player from Fridays event was from Canada, not sure if it was Montreal or not.

In case anyone is interested this is the list I played Friday:

    4 Force of Will
    4 Counterbalance
    2 Spell Snare
    1 Cryptic Command

    4 Brainstorm
    4 Sensei's Divining Top
    1 Ponder

    4 Tarmogoyf
    4 Lorescale Coatl
    2 Vendillion Clique

    4 Standstill

    2 Engineered Explosives
    2 Sower of Temptation
    1 Krosan Grip

    5 Island
    7 Fetch
    3 Tropical Island
    2 Volcanic Island
    4 Mishra's Factory

    SB
    3 Disrupt
    2 Submerge
    1 Relic of Progenitus
    2 Tormod's Crypt
    2 Krosan Grip
    2 Engineered Explosives
    3 Firespout

Yeah, the Gbw Natural Order Survival player was from Montreal. He beat me 2-1 Rd 1 on Sunday with retarded draws and solid play. Unsure how he finished but he was 3-0 a bit later. Good turnout, lot of fun with pleasant opponents (for me more than my friends sadly) and old friends.

    Top eight was:

Goblins vs Charbelcher (John Cuvelier) (Goblins wins)

4cc (me) vs Canadian Threshold (Ben Wienburg) (Thresh wins)

44 Land (Cedric Phillips) vs Ug Merfolk (Alex Bertoncini) (Land wins)

Dredge (Tommy Kolowith) vs something (Dredge wins)

Top four was Wienburg over TK and Cedric over Goblins. Wienburg and Cedric split.

I know he got Spoiled to death at least one game, but yes, that outcome was unexpected.
