Is it really a competition though? like 'Who's got more money guys?!' It's not a competition... it's fun, no winners, no losers, everyone's got their own flavor, everyone's shit is cool, it's their way to express their style.

Nah, it's not even done yet. I went altered art as much as I could (judgepromo's and stuff) and got some neat 7th edition foil counterspells, but I'm still getting all my shit together :) It's like you said, a fun sideproject to make a deck I love playing even cooler.
I'll post it when it (ever) gets finished :D

As I've almost finished to pimp my "Black Bordererd Beta FTW" theme Landstill deck, I'm now working on another project: the exact same deck, but full White Bordered.
bad ass... it would be cool to have like 3x of your fav deck, a foil, a foreign, a wb. that's pretty sweet

I've met Luca Zontini and Donato Giancola in a convention in Italy today so I've upgraded my playset of foil japanese Tin Street Hooligans!
Now I'm forced to play it!
To each his own. It's a cool idea to have 1 drawing done over a whole playset, but a permanent marker and some liquid paper I don't think improve the cards' look. But, pimping is an individual taste.
As for people going on about the Dreadstill deck... may I remind you, people have (in spite of the fact that this is a Legacy pimp deck thread) posted pictures of full Beta P9 and the thread didn't end there. There's still life after peaks of hotness.

On the beta p9, it is much less impressive than the dreadstill deck. I mean you would probably need to post very nice alpha power to even come close. Those altered forces alone are much rarer and more expensive than most pieces of power anyway.
Not exactly. Any value placed on altered art cards is kind of speculative, whereas Beta power have buttloads of quantitative values to support them. Personally, I'd never pay much more than the value of a regular card for its altered variant.

WTF? who cares, really? Power... Blah... almost unusable unless your in a huge city, you'll maybe get one sanctioned event in a year if you are lucky... cards are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them, just because you are willing to spend X amount of cash on Y card, does not mean that is how much it is worth, its how much you paid for it... try to flip that bitch, bet you wont get the money... just on ebay for instance, there are auctions for jap foil delta's for $450 a piece, and they have been there for a year at least, unsold
By the by, there are summer duals up right now, a trop I believe (not into it myself, I would rather have a couple nice bottles of wine than spend a thousand dollars on a card you can get for $30)
In any event, like I said, pimping is about FUN and individuality, not being a prick and ragging on someone else's stuff cause 'my sideboard costs more than all the cards you own'
I am unimpressed by a $5k stack of 60 cards, from a dude who thinks he's better than everyone else cause he wasted all his money on cardboard...

I believe those used to be my Drains, altered at GP Toronto. I sold them on MOTL to someone from Italy a while back.
