How'd Ben do? It's not often the girlfriend outplays the boyfriend.

That is to say: Its usually the Boyfriend who beats the girlfriend.

Haha, she did out do her boyfriend this week and last week in Syracuse as far as I know. Not that that implies anything about the difference in their skill level, but that's just how things turned out.

I don't like posting top 16 decklists unless the tournament has over 100 people, otherwise i'm posting 1/4th of the decklists for the tournament and that just seems unncessary.

Yes yes, she crushed me in the Swiss. She was 4-1 at the end of round 5. Unfortunately she lost two very close matches to end 4-3 and in 22nd place. I started out 1-2 (losing to Ams & Merfolk) and brought it back to 4-2-1 (Beating TES, Belcher, Merfolk, Ugr Dreadstill, and unfortunately drawing with Countertop Progenitus) ending in 20th place. Woulda been nice to see prizes go out to top 24 <_<. Alas.

I like the girl from the second and third picture.
Otoh, she looks like that famous top 16 that everybody talks about
    ...
I don't know if it's the "famous top 16", but she did manage 13th at Jupiter's grand opening tournament with mono-red burn and no sideboard.

Edits: Was it alarming to anyone else that 5 of the top 8 decks were running Progenitus?

10/10 ProEverything? I'm not surprised that sees play. I wonder how many people were expecting it and had sideboards with Progen hate in them. I know I ran Perish.

Yeah, I'll admit I've played really well lately, but I'm not at a higher skill level then Ben. I still make silly play mistakes that seasoned players shouldn't make. In time, we'll see if I can get better ;)

Bant decks are very good and Progenitus is almost unstoppable. It isn't really a surprise to me.

Here's the rest of the pictures, now that I got the sd card to cooperate:

    Eli crunching splits:

    Top 8:

    Quarterfinals:

    Semis:

    Final:

    Finalist Shawn King:

    Winner Jeremy Tibbetts:
“It's possible. But it involves... {checks archives} Nature's Revolt, Opalescence, two Unstable Shapeshifters (one of which started as a Doppelganger), a Tide, an animated land, a creature with Fading, a Silver Wyvern, some way to get a creature into play in response to stuff, some way to get a land into play in response to stuff (a different land from the animated land), and one heck of a Rube Goldberg timing diagram.

It's so odd to see amazing shiznit like Mishra's Workshop and Beta duals in the display case in the first pic. It's been about 8 years since I've been into any card shop that's got halfway decent selection of old gems.

come to Jupiter sometime, the guy's shop is hardcore. I doubt too many stores have FTV:E stockpiled like he does.
