I'm fairly certain that Poole was originally commissioned to do the art for Tropical Island but the painting that he did for it was instead used for Birds of Paradise. I'll see if I can find a source on that, but I know I've heard that from multiple sources. So in short Alpha would be the misprint.

Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery pimptastic. I love the idea of the only altered card being the general, though, because the uniqueness of the look corresponds wonderfully to the unique role a general plays in EDH.

That's a pretty cool looking EDH deck. I definitely agree about going with real foils over fnm ones. FNM hurts my eyes. I would go for korean yawg will, volraths stronghold, nevs disk and strip mine. I think I'd also go for a planar chaos foil damnation as well. Either way, very nice deck. I love seeing pimp EDH and highlander decks.

Yea the FNM thing kinda lets me down. Korean Will/Volrath/Disk/Mine are gonna be quite a journey haha. I do have an FBB German Strip that I was thinking of using instead (the FTVE foils are terribad), but that's still far off. Planar Chaos Damnation is a very good call - that and the TO Chainers/ OD Coffers will have to be my next targets.

Haha, yeah, and he still has like full BB Power, Drains, foil Goyfs, foil playset of most playables and unplayables in legacy like standstill, counterbalance, top, etc. All english foil :) Oh, and yea, of course he has the entire stax deck in foil :)

Not much happening in here lately. Anyway I keep saying I'm going to post my highlander deck so I have decided I will just post the parts of it that are fully pimped. It would look silly if I posted the whole thing as only 60 or 70 cards are finished, another 20 or so are chi foil or what not and there's still 15 cards that are just plain old english foil or even nonfoil and are complete eyesores.
A lot of the missing cards are in the mail, but I do still need the following... Japanese foil coalition relic, sharuum, sphinx of the steel wind, baneslayer angel, crumbling sanctuary, compulsive research, ajani vengeant, garruk, obelisk of alara, chrome mox, tezzeret and signets. Also missing a moat since I sold my beat up one and want a nm one, some alpha duals (tundra, savannah, taiga), alpha twister and korean exploration.
the miscut Bazaar is sex! i so looove the way it shares border with that red card. I'm saving a photo of a very similar card, did you happen to just recently acquire it off the market?

So you were the one who outbid me on the Bazaar, actually, I think a bunch of people did, I went up to about $350, but figured I wouldn't win. Amazing deck and the bazaar is the best part IMO.

If we are really talking about the same card, it sold for 525ish. I know this is a Legacy forum but guys from TheManaDrain will shit their pants when they see this card. I think that card actually costs more now since Bazaars are selling for ~50 more. I would rather stare at it all day long rather than a PSA 10 Black Lotus, unless that lotus is miscut the same way LOL.
lol andrew, just put me to shame. Even though my EDH is foiled out, those cards are pretty easy to obtain, I won't lie. Your pimp hand is tooo strong!

Just wondering what peoples opinion of the 'pimpest' kird ape is?
My preference is for the older picture (aka not 9th ed Foil or FTV).
So it's a tossup between the Arabian Nights version or FNM Foil.
A large portion of my Zoo deck is already foil, so I'm leaning toward the FNM version, but i'm not a fan of the FNM text on the card. What are other peoples opinion?
It's got to be Arabian Nights. They go well with Chain Lightning (which hasn't a foil variant) and an Arabian Nights Mountain.
Edit: I should also include the obvious, duals can't be foiled either, so there is no hope of an all foil Zoo.

As far as old picture, it has to be just Arabian Nights. Otherwise foil Russian is definitely the way to go (isn't it always?).
