Null Brooch and counter ability

a simple question :
May I pay (2), discard my hand, and TRY to counter a creature spell ? Of course the creature will enter the game, but its important to me to have 0 cards in my hand (ensnaring bridge).

Creature spells are illegal targets for Null Brooch. You can't activate it without a legal target. You could if it said "Counter target spell if it's not a creature" instead.
