I have a Tabernacle. Opponent has an Awakening. During his upkeep does he get his 0/1 guy before or after Tabernacle takes effect?
The token from Awakening Zone will have the Tabernacle-granted trigger as soon as it's created, but both the Awakening Zone trigger and the Tabernacle-granted trigger happen at beginning of upkeep. Since you're past the beginning of upkeep when the Awakening Zone trigger resolves, the Tabernacle-granted trigger for the new token won't trigger that turn.
Tabernacle-granted triggers for tokens already on the battlefield will obviously happen, and since he controls both those triggers and the Awakening Zone trigger, he can stack those however he likes. He could, say, have Awakening Zone resolve first and then sacrifice that token to pay for an older token's Tabernacle-granted trigger.
“It's possible. But it involves... {checks archives} Nature's Revolt, Opalescence, two Unstable Shapeshifters (one of which started as a Doppelganger), a Tide, an animated land, a creature with Fading, a Silver Wyvern, some way to get a creature into play in response to stuff, some way to get a land into play in response to stuff (a different land from the animated land), and one heck of a Rube Goldberg timing diagram.”

I assumee you're talking about Awakening Zone, not the Stronghold card Awakening.
First of, there is noch such thing as "takes effect". The ability granted to creatures by Tabernacle triggers for each creature that the player, who's turn it is, controls at the beginning of his upkeep. At the same time Awakening Zone triggers. Since your opponent controls both triggers he gets to chose in which order to stack those.
Note that this is due to the fact that it is not Tabernacle itself that triggers in upkeeps. It only awards a triggered ability to creatures. This is important because otherwise Awakening Zone would always resolve after Tabernacle following the APNAP (Active Player - Nonactive Player) rule ("principle"?).
Bonus content: In case you're wondering, you don't have to pay the upkeep cost for a token put into play by Awakening Zone the turn it is created. This is due to the fact that once Awakening Zone's ability resolves, the "beginning of the upkeep" is already over.
The seven cardinal sins of Legacy:
1. Discuss the unbanning ofLand TaxEarthcraft.
2. Argue that banning Force of Will would make the format healthier.
3. Play Brainstorm without Fetchlands.
4. Stifle Standstill.
5. Think that Gaea's Blessing will make you Solidarity-proof.
6. Pass priority after playing Infernal Tutor.
7. Fail to playtest against Nourishing Lich (coZ iT wIlL gEt U!).
