Or you could get all 75 graded ... and ... uh pile shuffle.

Even better then shuffling toploaders, I cant even imagine how one would go about trying to shuffle hard cases.

I would pay GOOD money to see someone at a Legacy GP with a Battle of the Wits deck...all in graded PSA cases.

Better hope they don't play to many fetchlands then. It would be a bitch to play against (but totaly awsome at the same time) :)

I saw a cube on salvation a while back that was foiled out with GURU lands for basics. 80+ of each, and the whole cube was in toploaders. The guy was like "yeah it takes a while to get used to shuffling, but it's possible"

Back before GP: Chicago in 2009, I played my Aggro-Loam list in top loaders just to see what it was like.

It was a nightmare...especially considering how much that deck shuffled. I think I got through two rounds with top loaders before I took it out of them.

Actually most people blow at grading; a lot of the "Mint" stuff posted here is far from.

    BGS > PSA

PSA has gone down hill quite a bit and averages condition wise around SCG/other top retailers.

Going BGS is a great way to store and price out set collections. Any other purpose is rather futile. I've cracked quite a few things out of slabs mainly because I treat my cards well and after significant play time are still in fantastic condition.

One of the guys local to me raged at my Power alterations (back when the Pearl was the only one I had altered - it was the test run for my artist), claiming I was forever taking that Power out of circulation.

I responded by saying the Power was already out of circulation because I don't intend to sell out of Vintage again. And I then cited all the slabbed Power cards that are REALLY out of circulation because they are encased in a 1/4" of hermetically sealed plastic.

Worst part is...he only plays Standard. >.< WTF does he care about Vintage cards anyways?!

This depends. As a man who has both of these decks foiled out, I can tell you that TES is relatively easy to pimp, while lands is a ridiculous pain in the ass. For example, the most expensive card to foil in TES is polluted delta if it's your fetch of choice, then brainstorm, both of which are easy enough to find. In lands, it's a tie between maze of ith and rishadan port, their prices tend to fluctuate. Currently, there is one foil maze of ith on ebay at 145, and none on starcity, with english rishadan ports being 175 on the one english listing on ebay, with played ones being 125 on starcity (they are out of stock on NM).

There is also the issue of alters. If you're getting the unfoilables altered into your preferred method of ponies, what better card to alter than lion's eye diamond? That chick could be petting the fuck outta some pony.

Nah...the Ponies was just a Power/Time Vault thing. And eventually, Voltaic Keys and Tezzeret the Seekers. And I mainly got them altered because they were white bordered Unlimited - Beta Power and duals are ridiculous in price, even for me.

I will probably pimp both decks and make a metagame call on site. If I expect a lot of control, I'll run Lands since TES is combo and combo gets rolled by control (usually). If I expect a lot of combo, I'll run TES since Lands gets rolled by combo (usually). And from my understanding, TES and Lands both roll aggro.

Either way, I have to decide which one I will pimp first.

Currently, I would play lands with maindeck cursed totem as the maverick matchup is pretty absurd while TES struggles a bit. Also, pimped lands looks way more badass than TES. Foil rishadan ports are the sexiest.

Foil is blech. German Glacial Chasm is the real hotness in lands. As well as the mighty Zurs Sphäre.

Hm, you bring a good point. If there's one thing that's badass, it's Zurs Sphäre.

I think you are cool as long as you don't go hunting for another set of power because your altered set is unplayable. Your ponies give me a heartache but your deck gives me inspiration to collect a nice Vintage gush deck so I guess you can take it as a compliment :)

As for the pimp Legacy deck, Bryant has the most wicked pimped TES so if you are determined, take on something else we haven't seen and showboat hehe.

Working on those. My rebuilding progress:

New Tabernacle (English), English Karakas, 2 Korean Manabond, 2 Korean Mishra's Factory, 2 German EE, 1 German Top, 1 German Chalice of the Void... stuff that was in transit when I went to the GP :P

I had 1 rule when building this deck. If it was german FBB first then it won't be foil. Otherwise it'll be foil.

This for matt since I showed him the decklist at GP tacoma:
