The seven cardinal sins of Legacy:
1. Discuss the unbanning ofLand TaxEarthcraft.
2. Argue that banning Force of Will would make the format healthier.
3. Play Brainstorm without Fetchlands.
4. Stifle Standstill.
5. Think that Gaea's Blessing will make you Solidarity-proof.
6. Pass priority after playing Infernal Tutor.

if you KNEW there was a chance for something you had to go up in value (even if only temporarily) why wouldn't you stop sales of that item until the new need was confirmed? Thats why I still buy mana drains when they sell on ebay under a certain amount. If one day it becomes unbanned. Ill be STOKED!
Im selling my playset Land Taxes now, I dont want to keep them this high
What is the problem? They have been sitting on the same stock of worthless Land Taxes for years, now people actually want them and they have about 8 playsets of white border and about 6 playsets of black border. They are the biggest store for MTG singles, if they sell them @ below ebay prices they sell out in 2 hours and they host weekly Legacy events where people are going to want the card. If they can mark them up while the hype is high and make some money on the .5% of idiot Magic players willing to pay that price more power to them. Everyone knows 4th edition Land Tax is not a $30 card.
Also I see some people complaining they removed stuff off the site right before the announcement. Problem? Why were these people even looking for Land Tax around midnight in online stores? We all know the answer. People raging because one store learned it's lesson on repeatedly getting burned on unban days and now they can't take advantage of it. It is to laugh.

Don't disrespect my dojo dude...
Sweep the leg!
I did my speculation buying of the Land Taxes I would need to play with (I refuse to speculate/participate and buy extra copies) in case it ever went up on Monday evening. but, I did also buy Worldgorger and Black Vises.
Watching Ebay at 9:05 PST was hilarious, though. Refreshing the page every few seconds gave less and less results. It was great to laugh about.
Point being, there's SO many 4th Edition Land Taxes, and the fact that it's awful, that Tax will come down in price. Already people are undercutting others to try to get their speculatory plunder shipped.

I beat everyone to the punch by about a year. I bought a Japanese land tax for 50 cents, winning!!!!
3x $0.25 Tarmogoyfs! (back when Future Sight first came out)
I think the old cards either stay the same or go up in value. Once they see a price jump I don't see them going down without a ban. If the card is $30 now I doubt people would be letting it go for lower in a year's time even if it didn't make a noticable impact on the meta. Same goes for Scroll Rack. I don't think it's going to make an impact but will still hold its $30 value next year this time. Maybe down to $20 but probably not even that.

I bought some cards on craigslist a little over a year ago for about $40. It had a complete set of Revised in Near Mint condition plus an almost complete set of Revised in excellent to near mint condition. It was missing a few duals and cards like Balance and Fastbond in the second set.
Do I win this thread?
Edit: It included a retro mtg binder in my purchase.
The brag posts are getting pretty boring guys.
Hill Giant means business.
Angry bitching whining post about [card] being [price] over its [user preferred price].
Unfortunately, it will take about a year for price memory to reflect actual demand rather than perceived demand. That means Scroll Rack and Land Tax will be a $360-400 combo for the near future. Good thing it's the durdly king of card advantage that has still yet to find a win condition.

I found a foil Quilled Slagwurm beside my car in the parking lot of my lgs.
Some friends of mine and me bought like 3.000€ worth of cards from our local store for less than 30€. The shop had almost everything you could wish for but the owner never showed any interest in keeping up with prices. Sometimes you would walk up and some of the people working there told you to come back tomorrow because they didn feel like selling today.
So one day, he said it was ok to just go through all the giant boxes of cards he had in the back of the shop and just buy anything we wanted. Lion's Eye Diamond, Force of Will, Candelabra of Tawnos, Natural Order, Wasteland, Show and Tell.Everything for the prices he had written down in his "list" that was printed around 1999. It even had Deutsche Mark prices instead of the Euro. It was one of the most hilarious days in my life of Magic.
