    Mkay, only have time for a quick post, but i played "gerry t" dredge at st. louis. Went x-4 drop, no finish of any importance. I constantly missed having access to breakthroughs 3-4 in my 75. I also felt i wad drawing too many lands. In retrospect, i would have played quad. Has anyone else felt like the 2time breakthrough list is not explosive enough?

    Addressing the Ashen Ghoul boarding plan:
    If you play with 11 rainbow lands after boarding in 2 Tarnished Citadels (I play 13 lands MD), the chance to open with a rainbow land in your opening hand is about 78%.
    Is that enough to support 3 Ashen Ghouls reliably enough??
    I mean, isn't it better to play e.g. Dread Return instead of 1 Ashen Ghoul instead?

    Dread Return does exactly nothing against extraction in my experience. You won't have enough creatures in play. Also you haave to consider 1-2 Studies to that calcu lation. I found it more than enough and the third Ghoul is more important than a one-off do-nothing card imo.

    Drawing a lot of lands is actually sweet. I have never regretted that. You can flashback Faithless Looting, cast Narcomoeba, even cast Stinkweed Imp.
    The comparison to make is not "How many times you draw too many lands?" but "How many times did you have to mulligan because you didn't have enough?"

    I guess i should rephrase. I found myself mulliganing hands because they didn't have any draw to them. I feel like the 14 lands is excessive. I would probably cut 2 lands for 2 breakthrough. I just feel like having access to the full playset of breakthroughs somewhere in the 75 is very important against decks packing ooze.

    I don't get why it would be bad to have to mulligan with this deck. We all know this deck mulligans often and good. I'd rather have a 4 card hand with land,looting,LED,troll than a 7 card hand including 3 lands, 3 dredgers, 1 Breakthrough for example. I too think that 14 lands are excessive. Maindeck that is. I'd rather have good hands with double mulligan than mediocre 7 card hands

    Cutting Breakthrough is terrible, if you're trying to play with 14 land MD the cards you really have to look at cutting are the 12th Dredger and the 4th Ichord (or 1xDread Return).

    Quad Lazer - 1 Golgari Thug and -1 Ichorid for +2 Tarnished Citadel "might" be the best possible MD configuration for converging into your SB plan with out wasting SB space on lands. I've never gotten around to testing it myself because I've never had another 4x SB card I felt i absolutely needed in Dredge, but it's something I've always kept in the back of my mind.

    Before cutting the Ichorid in the Quad Laser variant, I'd cut a PImp.

    For my next tournament I'm trying to fit an Ashen Ghould & Nether Shadow in my Sideboard..maybe it's to excessive, well it probably is, but I do want to play the Shadows at least once. Unfortunately there are no Unlimited once in German language, so I have to use 4th edition, without the phrase "for its normal casting cost" would be awesome.

    In seriousness how long would it take to acquire most of the deck in German language?

    I don't believe I can even find a single piece over here in the states. Well online it seems to be that way. Maybe I should start sifting through local shops and checking out their foreign singles. The problem is they just stuff all the foreign cards in a box and call it a day. I'd have to go through the whole thing and still potentially whiff. heh.

    Well..I live in Germany so yeah..it wasn't a problem for me.. had to buy the LED's anyway..so I just bought them in German..on magickartenmarkt.de

    So I'm still looking for an answer on what purpose the SB Sun Titan has and what the ideal target for his CIP effect is? What are we after out of the graveyard with him?

    The original idea as far as I'm aware was to recur LED and therefore flashback Looting, with the side benefit of bringing back Coliseum, pImp, etc.. This is mostly unnecessary now because if you want a DR target that enables you to draw cards, you just use Griselbrand.

    It's true! Putrid Imp is only worth $0.39 at Near Mint prices!

    By the way Golgari Thug is worth $0.42 in Near Mint condition.
