Can we make a rule that if you argue aggressively for banning a card and the meta ends up self correcting you get a warning, then second time it happens you can't argue for the banning of a card for a year. That would be just awesome.

This would be awesome, if there also was some kind of a reward for being correct. Otherwise, this rule would probably kill the discussion after the most active people already had their first warnings.

Yes, it would stop the same 20 people from repeatedly crying wolf, I fail to see the problem. Also notice the not so subtle difference between debating the power level of a card and aggressively arguing for bannings.

Well I don't know, how would you really quantify/qualify that? And what if the meta self corrects itself but then a few months later the card returns in full force and dominates the format even worse?

SCG Open Washington's top 16 shows us the oppressing nature of Griselbrand. Once again. My guess is that people believe after reading this thread that the card actually is banned, and just stopped playing it.

More likely, Karakas is everywhere (o hai Mavriq) and still beating the shit out of Show & Tell -> Legend half the time. Or Spell Pierce on Show & Tell from Merfolk / RUG Delver. Word on the street is that Merfolk in large numbers helped to suppress the efficacy of Combo during this tournament, but this has yet to be substantiated.

That's a hard criteria to meet. New cards are added at least every 3 months.

Otherwise, if we slacken those requirements,

I was being rather tongue in cheek. The main point being the same 10-20 people cry endlessly about banning cards and are wrong 95% of the time, and these people need to shut the hell up.

Tribal was very prevalent from what I saw, though as the day went on it wasn't near the top tables.

That scenario is not that good. This deck already runs nearly 30 instants/sorcery, thats almost a 50% chance of a delver flip. Why waste 4 slots on tutors...what are you really going to tutor? Lightning bolt?
