    Awesome Kickstarter project

I just wanted to share a pretty sweet project that some friends are working on with the Legacy community. It's called "The Keep" and it's essentially a high quality carrying case that can efficiently organize and store multiple different card/board games. I see a lot of people walking around at Magic tournaments with not only their decks but their trade stuff, their cube, draft sets, other games like Dominion or varied board games, all jammed into backpacks or awkwardly being carried around by hand. This product allows you to carry everything in one modular package; cards, boards, pieces and all. And like I said before the build quality is top notch, the design is innovative and compact, and there really isn't anything like this out there right now.

I think this product is perfect for Magic players, and solo Magic chambers are available if you don't carry enough for a full Keep. If you're interested in seeing this come to fruition they have a kickstarter page set up, so please check em out!

Is this a joke? Maybe he shoul'd settle for a smaller stock, or skip Amazon and try to reach out there by conventions.

They are already starting to generate a lot of interest, and I'm trying to help out as much as I can. I think the 250,000 mark is certainly doable. There was some advertising at GenCon this year, and I agree that conventions would be another great way to get the word out. If you or anyone else has any more ideas on the best way to get the word out and which communities would benefit from the product by all means let me know.

    Re: Awesome Kickstarter project

Setting a high goal is probably correct. Kickstarter has a real problem with people perceiving it as some kind of pre-order deals site. Many projects generate more interest than they expect and end up with tons of "orders" they can't fill because they never figured out how to scale production up. Hopefully these guys don't have that issue, the card box does look pretty nice.

Question though: If you went to a tournament with multiple decks in there separated by dividers, is that going to cause issues? Seems the same as having cards that aren't in your deck in the box with it.
I think the biggest thing is the deep seeded emotional understanding that the right play is the right play regardless of outcomes. The ability to make a decision 5 straight times, lose 5 times because of it, and still make it the 6th time if it's the right play. - Jon Finkel

the bag looks awfully cheap and plastic. Ultra-pro sells cases in superior quality. There wasn't any presentation of the founders. What have they archived? If they belived in their product, why didn't they go to the bank?

How much money have you pinched in yourself nitewolf9, since the product is so awesome.

I don't think the goal is to make this product for CCG'ers. There are better products for that only.

What this does make portable is table-top games, which would otherwise reside in their original packaging, and in cases like Dominion which was shown in the video, could literally take 10 expansions.

    Seems neat!

Seems like maybe they could integrate miniature war games into their carrying modules. Something with foam to hold the little figures.

As convenient as this may be for the tabletop gamer crowd, I'm not sure if it's that convenient for a typical MtG tournament. I usually just bring a small backpack/messenger-bag and throw a deck in there along with a playmat, some dice, notebook, etc. Having a huge collection in one easy-to-carry package also makes it especially easy-to-steal, so I would hope that anyone who brings something like this to an event would pay very careful attention to it.

One other thing I'm trying to get them to do is provide an "ankle bracelet" that you can use while leaving the thing under a table, along with a locking mechanism.

You probably wouldn't have your tournament deck in the case with other cards/games, and would use one of the modular sections as a separate tournament box that can go back into the Keep after you're done.
