For those that care: These were given out at the GP in Denver.

Note that the word Run is still not in italics.

Ha. Didn't say I was losing. It's just annoying. Not Elves annoying but more "vending machine game me the wrong candy bar" annoying.

The rest of the sentence is already in italics, so what would ordinarily appear as italics (for emphasis, I'm assuming) appears unitalicized.

I didn't do too well at the GP in Denver, but I got 3rd in the 120+ person side event. I'll post a tourney report soon.

I’m mainly playing against RUG Delver, Esper Stoneblade, Maverick and Prison style Enchantress. So what would be the ideal sideboard for something like that?

Oh, and what matchups were the Pongify's intended for?

    Thanks,

As a newcomer to this thread I'd like to ask a question. Can you describe the sequence of events that lead to you going infinite? It probably seems pretty obvious but I'm having a hard time realizing how exactly is happens and what you mean by it. I've read 3 or 4 tourny reports and it always ends in winning so I assume it loops an Eldrazi but yeah. Thanks.

Step 1: Cast Emrakul, The Aeons Torn with a Karakas out.You now have another turn.
Step 2: Take your extra turn. At some point during it, bounce the tentacled monstrosity back to your hand with Karakas. Re-cast it. Take another turn.
    Step 3: Giggle.

I'm really dumb for not noticing that Emakrul time walks. I'm so used to him in Sneak and Show decks that I totally forgot about that ability. Thanks man.

If you are not running Karakas for budget or availibility issues, you usually run 2x Emrakul. Once you have 20x mana availible (easy with this deck) you do this:
Turn 1: Utilize Eye of Ugin (7 mana) for Emrakul #1. Cast Emrakul (13 mana) Take another turn.
Turn 2: Utilize Eye of Ugin (7 mana) for Emrakul #2. Attack with Emrakul #1. Cast Emrakul #2 (13 mana), and legend rule kills both and resuffle your graveyard. Take another turn.
Turn 3: Lather Rinse and repeat.

Basically 20x mana = you take all the turns. Usually this happens with me via Prime Time grabbing Cloudpost and Eye for its ETB ability, then if/when they don't do anything about it you attack and grab 2x more Cloudpost/Vesuva.

Because who cares if your Prime Time lives or dies if you immediately use the mana boost to get to the magical 20x mana and therefore all the turns.
The very fact flamethrowers exist means that someone, somewhere said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire.... but I'm just not close enough to do it."

How do you guys feels about running some # of Thirst for Knowledge? It seems pretty good to dig deep into the deck.

Is bumping up the Show and Tell count to 4 and adding another Emrakul good for this BUG and RUG meta? My friend piloted this again on our last major and he lost to RUG with the nuts draw and to a BUG Deck.

what's his build? can't tell you otherwise.

Several key cards strongly influence both the RUG & BUG matchups. Repeal count, land count, all is dust count, show & tell count, brainstorm count. All are pivotal choices. Usage of pithing needle or not. sideboard options. There is lots to consider.

We're using your list with 3 Show and Tell, 2 All is Dust, 4 Repeal, 3 Pithing Needle and 2 Brainstorms.

I'm the friend he's talking about. To answer your question, I ran a build with an identical Main Deck to the Nov. 25, 2012 List, with the following sideboard, as storm combo is still pretty popular in our local Meta:

    4 Flusterstorm
    3 Mindbreak Trap
    2 Elephant Grass
1 The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
    3 Chalice of the Void
    2 Venser, Shaper Savant

Right now our local meta is shaping up to be:
    - dominated by RUG, BUG and Miracles
    - small percentage (around 10%) of Storm Combo
    - Show and Tell decks sporadically appear from time to time, but their presence in the meta is totally unpredictable
    - All sorts of random combo is present every tournament in tiny amounts (like 1 or 2 players per deck) - MUD, Elves, Belcher, etc.
    - Other Aggro is limited to Maverick, Gobs and Merfolk, with Gobs being the most popular

To be fair, my loss against the RUG matchup was due to RUG's nuts draw on both games (fast clock, Wastelands, and a counter for every business spell I attempt to play).

    Re: [Deck] Turbo Eldrazi

Went 6-2 at the Super Legacy Redux tourney in GP Denver on Sunday.

    Full tournament report here.

Super Legacy Redux (3rd place, 6-2)

Round 1: Elves, by Darcy Huffmann (Match 2-0)
Game 1: My opponent plays a turn one and turn two Deathrite Shaman, along with a Nettle Sentinel. I use Pithing Needle on Deathrite, and then another needle on Mirror Entity to slow his game plan. I’m able to Show and Tell in a Primeval Titan and combo off quicker than he could. If his hand was a turn or two faster I would have probably been dead since I didn’t have Crop Rotation in hand to find Glacial Chasm.

Game 2: I mull to six and keep a hand with a The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale, Chalice of the Void, and an Elephant Grass. I quickly play the Tabernacle and knock the wind out of my opponent, stopping him from ever being able to combo. The chalice comes down shortly after but he begins to beat down with a Scavenging Ooze. He would play into the chalice and have his elves get countered to feed his Ooze, but Repeal resets the Ooze and I resolve a Show and Tell into Emrakul, the Aeons Torn.

    1-0

Round 2: Shallow Grave / Tin Fins by Josh Bingaman (Match 2-1)
Game 1: I was unsure what my opponent was on, but I identified reanimator after he resolved Careful Study and pitched Griselbrand. He casts Shallow Grave and I Crop Rotation into Bojuka Bog in response. I resolve a Primeval Titan shortly thereafter and prepare to combo. On my opponent’s last turn he resolves Ponder, and then Careful Study pitching a land and Griselbrand. His last card in hand is Shallow Grave, making it one of the best Ponders I have ever seen. He is able to combo off and Tendrils of Agony me out.

Game 2: I board in a majority of the combo hate, taking out Repeal, a few Eldrazi, All is Dust, and a few Expedition Maps. I bring in Flusterstorm, Mindbreak Trap, and Venser. I resolve an early Pithing Needle on Griselbrand and am able to Crop Rotation him out early on. I resolve an early Venser, Shaper Savant and provide wizard beats for a while while holding counters in hand.

Game 3: I stick with the same board plan as it seems very reliable. This game involved two Show and Tells, with both us dropping Emrakul each time. I am able to resolve two Pithing Needle, both on Griselbrand. There is no action for a while and he attempts to combo off, we trade a few Shallow Grave and Crop Rotations, and finally Flusterstorm enters the stack. I’m able to pay for his and he is unable to combo. Venser, Shaper Savant arrives again to provide beats with Karakas in play to provide another counter if need be. The game goes to time and I resolve a Primeval Titan on turn 3, dealing lethal on turn 5.

    2-0

Round 3: RUG, by Ben Battle (0-2)
Game 1: I keep a hand with Repeals, Show and Tell, Primeval Titan, and lands. I get Wastelanded twice in this game, and my opponent only plays Nimble Mongoose rendering Repeal useless. I eventually hard cast Primeval Titan which was countered, and then I’m dead to lethal mongoose damage.

Game 2: I keep a similar hand, and my opponent did as well. I never resolved a Pithing Needle, Show and Tell, or Repeal which leads to RUG taking the match with more Nimble Mongooses.

    2-1

Round 4: Esper Stoneblade, by Michael Caffrey (2-0)
Game 1: My opponent makes a few land drops and I identify him on Esper Stoneblade. I play a lone Forest and two Misty Rainforests into a turn three Show and Tell. My opponent is caught off guard and doesn’t have the Force of Will in hand. I put Emrakul into the battelfield and Michael is unable to dig for a Karakas.

Game 2: I bring in 2 Venser and 2 Flusterstorm, taking out 1 Glacial Chasm and 3 Pithing Needle. My opponent keeps a one land hand with Thoughtseize and Cabal Therapy, taking out my Sensei’s Divining Top and two Venser, Shaper Savant. He ends his turn 3 with a Karakas and Underground Sea in play. On my turn 3 I resolve Show and Tell, placing Primeval Titan and my opponent placing Venser, Shaper Savant. I fetch Vesuva and a Cloudpost with my land, taking out his Karakas. My opponent quickly realizes that I can recast Primeval Titan with one more land drop and concedes since he is still on one land.

    3-1

Round 5: BUG Delver, by David Price (2-0)
Game 1: My opponent resolves Deathrite Shaman, Delver of Secrets, and a Tombstalker in the first four turns. I’m just resolving land drops and find these creatures sort of adorable. My turn one Sensei’s Divining Top was played off an Island, so my opponent Forced pitching Force since he placed me on miracles. I resolve a Primeval Titan later on and combo with Emrakul / Karakas shortly thereafter.

Game 2: The game goes very long, and I resolve an All is Dust after staving off a bunch of attacks with Elephant Grass. After a few more turns and with a ton of land play I find a Primeval Titan with a late game Sensei’s Divining Top and combo off the next turn.

    4-1

Round 6: BUG Agent, by Michael Nyberg (2-0)
Game 1: My opponent plays Deathrite Shaman early on, and I respond the next turn with Pithing Needle on Wasteland. Nothing major happens for a few turns, my opponent is missing land drops and I’m making mine. Primeval Titan resolves but is Swords to Plowshares, with a surprise Srcubland being fetched up. I find no action and my opponent ends up filling the board with about 12 permanents after drawing nine cards off of three Ancestral Visions. He then double Hymn to Tourach‘s me. These cards don’t matter as I Emrakul the turn thereafter thanks to an Eye of Ugin.

Game 2: I bring in Tabernacle and take out Glacial Chasm. I keep Pithing Needle in and name Deathrite Shaman this game since I don’t think my opponent would run Wasteland in a four color deck, fortunately for me I was correct. My opponent still can’t find lands early on and the game proceeds much like the first. My opponent ended up finding answers for my first Primeval Titan and Kozilek, Butcher of Turth. I search Emrakul on the end of turn with Eye of Ugin and hard cast on my turn to seal the game.

    5-1

Round 7: NO Bug, by Jeph Foster (2-1)
Game 1: I watched my opponent’s deck tech at the SCG Invitational and also throughout the day, discovering he does not play Wasteland. I Pithing Needle Deathrite Shaman on turn one to help slow his game plan. He ends up casting a turn four Natural Order sacrificing a Dryad Arbor into Progenitus after I resolved Primeval Titan. I stupidly tried to Repeal the Dryad Arbor on upkeep, not realizing Repeal is nonland permanent. D’oh. My opponent swings in with Progenitus and Tarmogoyf for lethal, I Crop Rotation into Glacial Chasm to stay alive for a few turns. I show and tell into Emrakul and pass the turn, so he Green Sun’s Zeniths twice to put 7 permanents on the board while I’m at twelve life. On my turn I sacrifice the Glacial Chasm, swing in with Emrakul and he is left with a lone Progenitus and a few life while I’m still at twelve. He doesn’t find an answer and scoops.

Game 2: He lands an early Liliana of the Veil and forces my Primeval Titan. I don’t find any relevant answers for a while, and he sticks a Jace, the Mind Sculptor and follows up the next turn with Terastodon from Natural Order, taking out my Cloudpost and Eye of Ugin. I’m unable to find any Show and Tells and my opponent provides the beats.

Game 3: I keep a hand with Show and Tell, Primeval Titan, and a bunch of lands. My opponent doesn’t really do anything early. I resolve Show and Tell into Primeval Titan, and combo shortly thereafter.

6-1 on the day. The tournament cuts to Top 4 and I’m at third seed.

Top 4: Infect, by Justin Miyashiro. (1-2)
Round 1: This deck is a nightmare. Repeals can do a little work, but I’m still dead to Vines of Vastwood or Inkmoth Nexus. I’m able to slow my opponent down by repealing his Glistener Elf and Pithing Needle naming Inkmoth Nexus. At the end of his turn I Crop Rotation into Vesuva, copying Inkmoth Nexus. When my opponent attacks again with an Ichorclaw Myr I Repeal my needle, blocking the myr with my inkmoth and removing his threat from the board. On my turn, I resolve needle again on inkmoth. Next turn I Primeval Titan and combo off.

Round 2: He’s on the play and kills me on turn two. Repeal is bad on the draw as I can’t bounce a creature until his turn three. He had plenty of land to pay for The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale and Elephant Grass if they would have resolved or been found.

Round 3: I quickly get a Glacial Chasm to simply not die, and then Vesuva the Glacial Chasm to buy my self a few more turns. I can’t find any Show and Tells at all and as soon as the Glacial Chasm leaves play I die very very quickly. This is a terrible match up so it was sort of expected. My deck was not tuned to beat infect at all, and I don’t think Turbo ever will be.

At 6-2, I finished at third place and won a box. My friend Ben Battle who was on RUG ended up taking first and won a foil set of Return to Ravnica. In conclusion, I’d play Turbo at a large event again. I think not having byes hurts Turbo Eldrazi more than a lot of other decks, simply because the deck doesn’t beat random non-meta decks as well as Esper, RUG, or BUG does.
