    Gatecrash Staples for Legacy Playset

    Fellow Sourcers,
I've been away from the game for about a month and I have not followed any of the Gatecrash spoilers or discussion. Could you please list Gatecrash cards and quantities that I should acquire to keep current my Legacy playset? Thank you!

    Using RTR as an example:
    Rest in Peace (4)
    Deathrite Shaman (4)
Nivmagus Elemental (4) - I bought them, but I've never played them
    Supreme Verdict (2)
    Abrupt Decay (4)
    Detention Sphere (3)

Yeah... there's not really much. It's reasonable that Boros Charm might see play in burn or as a sideboard card to stop Abrupt Decay. I can't think of anything else though.

I was going to make another tongue-in-cheek comment about how you already have a playset of all the necessary Legacy staples in Gatecrash since it sucks so hard. Nonetheless, here's an effort to find stuff that may see play in Legacy (and I'm talking on the level of a Dryad Militant, so I'm setting the bar pretty low).

    - Enter the Infinite: the only thing that may see play in a good deck
    - Boros Charm: Only if Naya Sligh becomes a thing, and I'd opt for something else.
    - Balustrade Spy and Undercity Informer: If you want to play a really crappy version of Belcher, knock yourself out.

Thanks for the advice. Sometimes these cards are worth picking up while they are cheap on the off chance that they do form some part of a broken deck sometime in the future. Most of the new sets have enough circulation that it never really becomes an issue, but I thanked my lucky stars that I bought playsets of cheaper cards before Modern was announced. Lots of the cards that I bought for pennies went up 100X or more.

Thanks for the advice. Too bad this set is so poor for Legacy. The Spy and Informer seem like there could be some value. I'm sure that people are already tweaking decks, but having your whole library in your graveyard allows some pretty sick scenarios.

Yeah, that's fair. I did preorder foreign copies of Balustrade Spy and Undercity Informer, but honestly, don't expect to use them much. They're just so adorable though

As bad as Dimir Charm is, it might be playable in some deck sometime.

    Boros Charm as mentioned.
Enter the Infinite is stupid design and might have some application eventually because of it being stupid.

In terms of actual playables there is nothing.

True - but even Dredge players think Spy is too dangerous. The vulnerable nature of that combo is too all-in with a very high win rate for sure, however it leaves you extremely open to just auto-scooping to so many possible hate cards. There's just no reason to run it instead of Griselbrand in dredge.

    RE: gatecrash;
There's a few good multiplayer cards. Been pretty happy with the amount of cards with "each" opponent, insyead of target opponent, even if they are fairly narrow.
