You guys should consider higher entry fees and guaranteed prizes for some future event. The Portland crew likes to travel.
Several people have requested higher entrance fees and a corresponding bump in prize support. But the store does not seem super interested.
I'm not associated, just a player interested in maintaining a reliable turnout.
What you should travel for is the Mirkwood Cup. There's a primer this Sunday, plenty of duals for prizes. Details on Northwest Magic.
