This deck isn't panning out of its colors so I am doing another theme: U/W Miracles!
Same rules: 5 rares/mythic using 2 legendary creatures of the same copy and 3 non-permanent spells of the same copy, with any number of common and uncommon cards. All the cards that will be used in the deck should have the legendary creature's commander color identity.
The deck has to feature three mechanics that ties to the guild: Miracle (Forecast is a shit mechanic)), Detain, and guess mechanic (Imprint)
Well, I will not be using Counterbalance + SDTop because that is just too good for a casual/learner deck. Instead I will be using Isochron Scepter + Counterspell.
Now the proposed idea:
24 lands consisting of basics, Azorius Guildgate and utility land (thinking of Mistveil Plains to recycle cards). ALthough any other ideas for this utility land card are welcome.
For the legendary creature, I am thinking of using Isperia the Inscrutable. I believe its search ability can create softlocks, such as chaining Lyev Skyknights for the win.
3x Oblivion Rings for catch all answers
3x Terminus as the "rare" slot
3x Isochron Scepter (along with 4x Counterspell and 3x Memory Lapse. Repeated Memory Lapse late game if your opponent doesn't have cards in hand is a lock.)
4x Turn to Mist (saves your creatures from your own Terminus, great to imprint with Scepter)
4x Portent (great with the Miracles mechanic) and 4x Lat-Nam's Legacy.
So the tally goes:
I am not sure whether I should add 3 or 4 Lyev Skyknights. Also, what other creatures can I add (preferably with flying) that I can use to support the durdle then win out of nowhere strategy of this deck. I am thinking of utilizing 'enter-the-battlefield' creatures so I can use a secondary strategy: Isochron Scepter + Turn to Mist.24x lands
2x Isperia the Inscrutable (deciding)
3x Oblivion Ring
3x Isochron Scepter
3x Terminus
4x Turn to Mist
4x Lat-Nam's Legacy
4x Portent
4x Counterspell
3x Memory Lapse
6x unknown creatures
The first thread had a lot of feedback so I am hoping this will get the same.
I will also post the rest of the Guild MTG learner decks soon.
