Am I actually not allowed to? I feel like a lot of people ask similar questions in this thread.

Your goal has certainly already been attained by getting peoples attention to what you seek. Now leave it alone and don't do it again please. No trading, asking for places to buy/sell or similar in this thread please.

ABUgames usually has some of the nicer stuff in regards to alpha and beta. Their prices can be pretty steep but you can unload some buylist stuff and get the trade in bonus and be pretty well off. Sorry I couldn't be more help man.

What it takes to be a pimp:
    1. Knowing the right people.
    2. Have the money
Not one or the other, but both.

The pimp mtg page should be updated very soon to see the complete thing.

Is Brian Snoddy still signing or doing Warmachine only now?

Thanks for the advice. I had checked them before, but had only found some copies with lots of edgewear.

One interesting thing I noticed on ebay is that there were more alpha Lightning Bolts, and in better condition then beta copies. I wonder why that might be?

Don't know if he stopped. Haven't heard anything that he did. But then again it's a long time that I need something done by him.

I am fairly suspicious of one of my alpha Bolts. It appears to be trimmed beta. Guess I am stuck with it, as I don't want to unload it on anyone else.

For highly playable cards like Lightning Bolt, I wonder if alpha is more available because of the stigma against playing with different corners that seemed to be stronger in the past. Maybe alphas were sitting on binders while betas were picking up wear.

I'm thinking your possibly right. I was tempted to buy some alpha ones to finish my set, but decided I really want all four to be from the same set.

Markers: beautiful cards as always, especially the duals.

Great stuff Markers! I'm not a huge fan of signed cards, but it is always impressive to see signed complete sets, also love the swamp ghosts.

Posted a while back, but there was a 1-2 year period where you couldn't play alphas unless your deck was mostly (or all in some stringent cases) all alphas. If you had alpha power this was a big deal. I've seen alpha cut force of wills, DCI disenchant and a few other weird examples. Remember you couldn't use opaque sleeves until after or around Urza block? I can't quite remember, but I know I railed and ranted heavily for their legalization back in the day on the lists and usenet. Mostly because the disparity in color on the backs of Mirage vs. Revised was so glaring it made alpha corners moot.

Edit: I railed *after* they banned Alphas. Prior to that I actually wasn't in favor of sleeves because the sleeves of the day were penny sleeves which clumped very badly and you couldn't really riffle them. Opaque sleeves became legal on 10/1999 ...

That German Anger is hilarious. The German name translates to "The Trouble"...

The seven cardinal sins of Legacy:
    1. Discuss the unbanning of Land Tax Earthcraft.
    2. Argue that banning Force of Will would make the format healthier.
    3. Play Brainstorm without Fetchlands.
    4. Stifle Standstill.
    5. Think that Gaea's Blessing will make you Solidarity-proof.
    6. Pass priority after playing Infernal Tutor.
    7. Fail to playtest against Nourishing Lich (coZ iT wIlL gEt U!).
