40 Shocks, (not a huge deal but eventually I will have at least 1 signed from each of the original series as well as the new series - so far only a few are signed).

40 Fetches, (none signed so far; but my goal is to get them all signed through trades if possible or contacting the artists as Markers has done)

40 Duals, (some signed, some altered, some FBB; with eventual goal to have 1 signed, 1 altered, 1 Revised, and 1 Unlimited/FBB/Beta/Alpha for each set)

I know that this is no great feat compared to some guys in here; but consider that I have attained these through commissions and trades and not very many purchases so I am quite happy with the collection so far.

I am also very open to anyone that wishes to do trades to help me keep pimping the Real Estate out, or if they have ways to contact the artists I would also appreciate any info/help they can offer me.

Oh and nice to see how this thread just keeps having more and more super nice stuff to view in it.
Loving the full art duals like that, If I could find a set of all 10 done that way for EDH/Commander I would jump all over it. Or a set of 10 poor condition ones and have them "repaired" that way.

She did this with Acrylics. She is used to oil paints she said the hardest part is that the paint dries faster then she can mix the proper shades. Told her it is why I use prismacolor pencils I can blend in a new color a year later if I want :)
As she has the spare time and gets the power done I will post them.

Let your wife know that Glaze Medium can be used to retard the drying time on Acrylic Paints and really does help for both mixing and placement purposes. You can find it at more Decent Hobby Shops in the paint section and a Quart Bottle will last you for a year.

In regard to having a Full Set (1 each) for 10 altered Dual Lands I am 100% with you on that one. The Tundra was done by Poxy14, and the Badlands was a coop paint job between myself and jschro while I did the Underground Sea for myself as it was in fact a repair job. I could easily paint one of each for myself but I prefer to get work from other artists if possible; although I am quite open to trading art for art or doing more commissions if that is what it takes to get my set done.

Thanks for the comments Dan and I hope that helps you wife to get a better handle on Acrylics.
    Cheers

Nice! When sending cards off to get signed, do you ask the artist to sign in gold, or actually include a pen for them? Or is it a game of chance?

Here's some Mark Tedin stuff I got signed at GP Detroit:

I include an ink pen. I hate black sharpie sigs, looks like shit in a sleeve. You can get the sharpie ink pens which dry pretty quick from rite-aid here for like $6~ for 2 three packs. If they keep the pen I don't care.

I've actually had the gold and silver ink rub off. So I stopped using them.

I think that might happen with perfect fits. I've had decent luck with mine enduring. Some really old ones (like my Hymns signed at Origins 96) are hurting. I suppose I could trace the signature to freshen it up, not sure how cheaty that is with respect to the signature. Or just see the artist again and get it double signed

I would go with double signed. I had my serendibs double signed. once at worlds '98 and again afew years ago.

Yeah he has a couple signatures. Wait until you line up 5-6 Julie Baroh cards and try to find the 'fake'. She just puts little loops or doodles in the right corner near the set symbol. Terese Nielsen also has 2 pretty distinct sigs over the years. I have a couple of each and will scan.

I've never had an issue, but I re-sleeved in the perfect fits and just keep the cards in there forever once they are signed.

    Good to know.
I've got a bunch of stuff I'd love Rob Alexander to sign in silver when he comes to a local event in a few weeks
