Brainstorm
Force of Will
Lion's Eye Diamond
Counterbalance
Sensei's Divining Top
Tarmogoyf
Phyrexian Dreadnaught
Goblin Lackey
Standstill
Natural Order
The latest SCG Open has almost 400 players - let's see how dominant blue is going to be this time.
Is the thread message ordering broken? To me it shows that there are 346 pages, when I access the last page it says there are 347 but if I click on the "347 link" it takes me back to page 346...any idea? Is the DB corrupt by any chance?
And one more game turned into a total farce by TNN. Lovely card.

Repeating like a broken record how much you'd wish to see Brainstorm banned only alienates all of the people that enjoy and respect Brainstorm in the format (and don't doubt that that is the majority of Legacy players). While most of us would like to see non-Blue decks gain a stronger foothold, Brainstorm (and cantrips) are not likely something most players are willing to negotiate. Perhaps try working with people instead of alienating everyone?
It's true, cards are never banned.
In related news what the fuck are you talking about.
This is pretty dumb. When has Wizards ever printed a card aimed at a format because there was popular demand for it? The closest thing is the create a card competition, whichYour best options are 1. Discussing new and creative non-Blue alternative cards
1) Is of their own initiative, and
2) Has been dominated by non-competitive players, and
3) Is not aimed at Eternal anyway and
4) Has been done, what, four times? In the past eleven years?
"Maybe we could play Death and Taxes."and 2. Discussing/improving non-Blue archetypes using the current card pool.
Or, alternately, we could want to win, accept that the strategic balance of winning in Legacy is broken, and look at what tools we have to fix that. Those are pretty much limited to "gentleman's agreements" and calling for changes to the banned list.
God, what a bunch of simpering, smarmy, concern-trolling horseshit. Are your feelings really so hurt that someone points out the dominance of a card you like playing with? You caught me. Every pro-Brainstorm argument I've ever made obviously amounts to nothing more than "gee wiz, my feelings are hurt." IBA, I'd personally like to thank you for taking the high road and showing me the error of my smarmy ways. I guess there's just nothing for it but to give Brainstorm the axe.
Yeah, you're welcome.
Christ, that was pulling teeth.

..Spirit of the Labyrinth? Certain Standard archetype hosers like Kataki, war's wage also comes to mind.
Wizards does it all the time. Think about all the hosers they printed for Port back in the days of Invasion, e.g. Tsabo's Web.
And let's not forget the ultimate Dredge killer, Great Sable Stag!
Problem is that hatebears are useless unless they're great in general (like Thalia) or totally wreck the opponent (like Kataki). If Spirit of the Labyrinth had flash, it would have had much more wrecking potential.
And there are still no hatebears that specially address Show&Tell and similiar horseshit that cheats stuff into play from your hand.
I remember when Wizards used to print real hate like REB, Karma, Choke, Conversion, Boil, Flashfires, perish, virtues ruin, price of progress, bloodmoon, etc. Now we get a weak 3/1 for 3 intimidate + you maybe discard a card.
The seven cardinal sins of Legacy:
1. Discuss the unbanning ofLand TaxEarthcraft.
2. Argue that banning Force of Will would make the format healthier.
3. Play Brainstorm without Fetchlands.
4. Stifle Standstill.
5. Think that Gaea's Blessing will make you Solidarity-proof.
6. Pass priority after playing Infernal Tutor.
7. Fail to playtest against Nourishing Lich (coZ iT wIlL gEt U!).
It's somewhat hard to hate logistically. I mean, the deck casts a single 3 mana sorcery, and puts a permanent (usually a creature, even!) into play from its hand. Both are patently fair things, typically. It doesn't fit most usual signs of brokenness - stuff coming into play from zones they shouldn't, trying to cast expensive things, trying to cast a crapton of stuff at once. Makes it somewhat hard to print proper hate, though I guess it's possible.
EDIT: Oh, and for the Mr. Nitpicker who will inevitably pop up and say this - yes, cheating an Emrakul or Griselbrand into play is broken.
